During my tenure as President, many good Projects were done. The membership grew and Rotary Club of Mira Road became a vibrant Club with it’s members working as a team in spite of their busy professional schedule. Rotarians should always bear in mind that, he should have a family and business backing him, to support his work in Rotary. This I learnt from my Past Presidents that we should take care of our Family first, then Business and then Rotary. If we change the order it becomes very difficult. We have brought many changes and by 2020, I am sure, our Club will be at the Peak. With this small note, I greet my entire Team of members for their great role in conducting “ Inter School Elocution Competition” on the 13 th Feb 2016. CELEBRATION OF ROTARY INTERNATIONAL 111TH BIRTHDAY

111th

Anniversary of Rotary - a Great Service Organization.

23rd

Feb 2016

In the fall of 1900, Paul P. Harris met fellow attorney Bob Frank for dinner on the north side of Chicago. They walked around

the area, stopping at shops along the way. Harris was impressed that Frank was friendly with many of the shopkeepers.

Harris had not seen this kind of camaraderie among businessmen since moving to Chicago in 1896. He wondered if there

was a way to channel it because it reminded him of growing up in Wallingford, Vermont. Harris eventually persuaded local

businessmen to join him in a club for community and fellowship. His vision laid the foundation for Rotary.

“The thought persisted that I was experiencing only what had happened to hundreds, perhaps thousands, of others in the

great city … I was sure that there must be many other young men who had come from farms and small villages to establish

themselves in Chicago ... Why not bring them together? If others were longing for fellowship as I was, something would come

of it.”

This is how Rotary Club was founded on 23rd Feb 1905.

Rotarians from Rotary Club of Mira Road got together and celebrated 111th Birthday of Rotary International.

The Celebration ended with Cake Cutting Ceremony and Fellowship.
