Position overview

NTP is looking for Engineering Manager who will be accountable for providing engineering services to NTP through technical leadership and guidance to ensure that technical strategic objectives are met. This includes the development and deployment of the necessary technical management systems and infrastructure to ensure that projects, facilities and process comply with good engineering practice and all regulatory requirements.

Job Profile:

To provide technical leadership and guidance to ensure that its key technology projects are successfully executed;

To ensure the integration of the technology strategy with the broader business strategies; The development of strategic objectives for new facilities, infrastructure, processes and

plant renewal projects; The development and deployment of the necessary technical management systems,

processes and infrastructure to ensure that projects, facilities and process comply with good engineering practice and all associated regulatory requirements; and

Play a leading role in the design authority committee for the organisation.

Key Performance Areas:

Scoping and formulating execution strategies for new developmental projects, inclusive of assistance with licensing strategies;

Co-ordination and Resource management with the various engineering disciplines (Process, Mechanical, Electrical, HVAC, etc.)

Perform work as a design authority on engineering design and developments; Managing key CAPEX projects; Design and Develop optimization strategies for all existing production facilities; Co-ordinate with the Project Management Office during execution of projects; Interface with maintenance, waste, QC and production departments on the execution of

tasks and activities as assigned by the head of department; Collaborate and establish strategic partnerships with various parties in the nuclear

industry, both local and international; The development, implementation and maintenance of frameworks and associated

procedures for the management of technical systems and processes consisting of: System life cycle models and acquisition processes; Technical baseline management systems (inclusive of configuration management

and engineering change processes); Project management systems; Project quality management processes; Liaison with other stakeholder on the standardisation of technical systems and

concepts. Contribute to the “Design Authority Committee; Participate in Change Control meetings as a permanent member; Management and administration;

Mentoring and coaching; Providing consulting engineering services; Conducting design reviews. Drive and ensure events activities located to engineering are closed out Output driven

Assist other Team Leaders/Managers in the Engineering and Projects department to achieve NTP goals.

Job Requirements:

Basic knowledge and understanding of nuclear physics. Very good knowledge and understanding of all aspects of engineering, with specific

reference to systems engineering. A strong background in control and instrumentation is advisable in the light of envisaged

future projects. Sound knowledge of the different business systems, associated applications and the

interrelationship between the business systems. Knowledge and understanding of the company policies and procedures applicable to the

specific work environment to ensure that work outcomes are compliant to the policies and procedures.

Qualifications and Experience:

B Eng / BSc Eng with strong background in Process Engineering, Process Control and Control and Instrumentation Engineering.

M Eng – Engineering Management will be advantageous. Registration as a professional Engineer. Minimum ten (10) years’ experience in engineering. Design engineering experience will be an advantage. Preferably five (5) years’ in Engineering Management in a business environment. Management of technology development and commercialisation. Involvement in the engineering support of existing plants. Exposure to Change Management. Exposure to strategic planning and execution. Proven track record of managing technical projects. Report writing capabilities. Leadership skills and team player; and Commissioning experience.
