Interactive media normally refers to products and services on digital computer-based systems which respond to the user’s actions by presenting content such as text, graphics, animation, video, audio, games, etc.
Interactive media has change the media industry completely within the past 5 years as it is used for research, interaction with audiences and advertising which links it to the advertising.

Interactive social media has changed within the past 5 years and has ranked in Billions of pounds annually and employs around 34,300 people and 1.11 billion People on Facebook.
Companies
FacebookFacebook was founded by Mark Zuckerberg and Accel Partners invested in Facebook and it became a public sector company in February 1, 2012. There is now a owner of Facebook but is a shareholder business .
TwitterTwitter is private sector company and was created by Jack Dorsey, twitter doesn’t have a owner as it is a share holder business.
Facebook and twitter both receive both there funds from online ads.

The interactive media industry is related to many of the other industries for example the TV industry because many shows will have a website for example the Xfactor have a online website and the presenter will tell the audience to go and vote online or tweet in there views on the show.
