applicable to the Intel Insight Platform.
2 About this release 2.1 Highlights
Account access and teams have been redesigned to allow authorized managers to control access to
individual projects.
A new authorized role named Contributor is available. Contributors can annotate items but cannot run
analytics.
The Coordinate Reference System (CRS) can be defined when creating a project.
Users can now delete maps and relaunch photogrammetry.
The Usage monitoring interface has been redesigned to improve usage and activity monitoring.
Ground control points can now be tagged by the authorized user prior to uploading images.
Searchable tags have been added to annotations and objects, to allow for basic cataloging.
DSM change detection analytic has been improved to increase the allowable computation size.
Maps generated by DSM change detection can now be exported.
The upload and resume processes have been made easier to use.
A new analytic is now available that calculates Vegetation height as a new layer.
The MC4-PRI camera is now supported.
Photochemical Reflectance Index (PRI) has been added to the Vegetation indices analytic.
A user can now share a project location with no flight information. This allows communication for the
preparation of a mission, among other things.

3 Improvements and fixes 3.1 Improvements 3.1.1 Ground control points can now be tagged by the user prior to
uploading images.
Previously, users had to upload images to the Intel Insight Platform as a Gallery, and then run
Photogrammetry from the Analytics menu in order to tag their own GCPs. The upload interface has now been
redesigned so that GCPs can be tagged prior to uploading, resulting in a more efficient user experience.
3.1.2 Users can now delete maps and relaunch photogrammetry.
By clicking on any one of the Orthomosaic, DSM, Point Cloud or 3D Model layers in the Layers panel, users
are able to delete the processed models for that flight, without deleting the gallery of images. The
photogrammetry process can then be re-launched with different settings from the Analytics panel. Note that
any associated analytic results or annotations created will not be deleted.
1. Select any one of the
Orthomosaic, DSM, Point
Cloud or 3D Model layers.
The information panel will
open to the right. Click on
the menu to the right of the
layer name, and select
“Delete”.
You will be asked to confirm
the deletion of all of the
models associated with the
flight.

2. Once the models have been
deleted, you can re-run
Photogrammetry from the
Analytics panel.
3.1.3 Creator and time of creation are now displayed for annotations.
3.1.4 The DSM change detection analytic has been improved.
Users can now run the analytic on a larger area. In addition, the resulting layer can now be exported.
3.1.5 The upload and resume processes have been improved.
The following improvements have been made:
Upload performance has been improved when multiple uploads are occurring simultaneously;
Users can now choose to pause an upload, so as to prioritize their bandwidth for a particular project.
When an upload is interrupted, users are able to resume the upload using the retry button. This
interface has been improved to make the statuses of the images easier to understand.
3.1.6 Analytic titles for vegetation indices have been improved for ease
of reading.

3.2 New features 3.2.1 Coordinate Reference System.
The CRS can now be defined when creating a project. To help make analytics consistent throughout the project
(from one mission to another), the CRS is linked to the project (i.e. the CRS used for the first mission carries
over to all subsequent flights).
CRS selection screen
At any point in time, the user can view the CRS settings for the project by clicking on the orthomosaic, which
will reveal the information in the right-hand side panel.

CRS information is shown in the right-hand panel
3.2.2 Team management and user profiles have been updated.
Team roles and access levels have been expanded to permit additional control over access to projects and
actions. A high level overview of the access levels of each user role is provided below.

3.2.2.1 Managers can now restrict access to specific projects
Teams and project sharing now allow control over access to specific projects. Managers can control which
projects are viewable/accessible by each individual operator, user and contributor, while continuing to permit
Managers to view all projects. These attributes can be set during the project creation, or by editing the user
from the Team -> User management menu on the left.

3.2.2.2 New Contributor role
A new role named Contributor has been created. This role has been created to allow simplified access to
individual projects for collaborators who wish to view models, make basic measurements, and contribute to
conversations without being able to create new projects, launch photogrammetry or run analytics. They are
fully authenticated with an email and password.
3.2.3 Usage monitoring interface.
The user account monitoring interface and export reports have been reformatted to make it easier to track
usage from month to month. This report is available under the Teams menu from the home screen.

3.2.4 Searchable tags have been added to annotations and objects, to
allow for basic cataloging.
A new field, “Tags”, has been added to the right-hand side information panel for objects such as annotations
and layers. Users are able to add one or more tags to enable basic cataloging. For example, annotations of
“to-do” items can be specifically tagged. These tags are then searchable from the home screen in order to
permit basic project filtering.

3.2.5 Vegetation height analytic.
The Vegetation height analytic allows the user to calculate the height of a crop in two ways:
1. Measure the height of a crop versus a dataset taken of the bare earth before growth commenced (or
an incremental baseline);
2. Attempt to measure the height of a crop by detecting the height of the earth around the field (may not
succeed, and may be less accurate).
This analytic is accessible for multispectral datasets that have been processed. The analytic can be launched
from the Analytics menu within the project.
Once selected, the user has the option to:
Add an identifying suffix (Deliverables suffix) to the generated calculation;
Choose to measure the crops versus an existing dataset or by estimating the ground level;
Define a specific area of interest by choosing an uploaded polygon vector file (GeoJSON) that will be
used for the computation.

Vegetation height menu screens
When completed, the results will be provided in the following formats:
A vegetation height raster named “Vegetation height”, or “Vegetation height (suffix)” if a suffix has been
entered
o Export format: TIF file
If the statistics option has been selected, the vegetation height statistics vector named “Vegetation
height statistics”, or “Vegetation height statistics (suffix)” if a suffix has been entered
o Export format: GeoJSON file
3.2.6 The camera M4C-PRI is now supported.
The Photochemical Reflectance Index (PRI) can now be calculated. PRI measures plant responses to stress,
and can be used to assess vegetation health. This index is available for multispectral projects, and can be
found under Vegetation indices in the Analytics menu.

3.3 Bug Fixes Fixed bug that causes DSM Minimum/Maximum values to initially be displayed incorrectly under certain
conditions;
Fixed bug that caused the project scroll bar to not work properly on certain screen sizes;
Fixed bug that sometimes incorrectly handles 3D polygons drawn inside another polygon;
RGB images are no longer included in the radiometric calibration interface for Sequoia cameras;
Fixed bug that caused a "Mission: an error occurred" notice to appear under certain conditions when
computing a volume, although the Insight Platform still computed the volume;
Fixed bug that stopped the user from resetting an annotation's style back to white;
Fixed bug that caused contours to initially display incorrectly as an empty rectangle;
Long names in projects can now be viewed (they were truncated under certain conditions previously);
Fixed usage export reports for managers;
Fixed error that caused some projects to be located at 0,0 (in the ocean) under some conditions;
Fixed zoom bug on map interface. In some instances, scrolling out to maximum zoom would lock the
view in place;
Corrected Gigapixel calculations in the monitoring screen;
Fixed clipping of some models in 3D;
A user can now share a project location with no flight information with other authorized users.

4 Known issues Some large projects (>35Gigapixels) processed post-flight using the Bentley engine did not process as
ordered. This is currently under investigation. In the interim, Pix4D is recommended for processing
projects of this size.
