    1 GENERAL

    1.1 Summary

    This paper describes in detail the creation of an integrated SCM model. After attaining the normal APO courses you can use this description to create a small model for your testing.

    The description does not contain an explanation WHY specific action are done, only HOW.

    1.2 Purpose

    The overall goal of this paper is to provide a full data-set for an integrated scenario within APO.

    The data and test-scenarios should be used to create an own APO-model. This paper is supposed to be another APO for dummies-guide and therefore will also include examples for specific problems.

    The model and the simulation version are not 000, since we do not consider the integration with R/3. The master data description includes also an XX. Replace XX with an appropriate number.

    Because of the APO system is always under development, it could be that the current view is slightly different to the scenario described in this paper.

    Abbreviation TA will be used for transaction.

    Since the following includes a lot of configuration, try to find logical steps, e.g. the master data and SNP configuration and test what you have created.

    1.7 APO Transactions

    To enter an APO transaction you always have to use /n in front of it, e.g. TA /SAPAPO/MAT1 must be entered as /n/SAPAPO/MAT1.

    1.8 Customizing Request

    Depending on the system settings (record changes) you might have to work with customizing requests.

    Create a new customizing request to gather the changes you made in one system. This information can later be transported to another system.

    This way you customize your system once and after testing your bring your changes into your test / consolidation and production system.

    2 MASTER PLANNING DATA

    2.1 Model / planning version

    2.1.1 General

    Model: Contains all the master data

    Planning version: contains all the version specific master data and the transactional data.

    2.1.2 Generation

    Although in a real implementation we would use the active model and version, we will still create our own model and version for separate testing.2

    Use TA /SAPAPO/MVM3 to create the following model and planning version.

    CTM can plan bucket-orientated or time-continuous. The bucket-orientated approach creates production order for every day, while time-continuous can produce planned production that can overlap days. To respect the capacity consumption and if you want to plan time-continuous than you have to use PP/DS PPMs otherwise you can use both.

    Only one mode (=resource) is possible inside the SNP-PPMs. Alternative modes are supported by CTM.12

    Note: In SNP and CTM all input components need to be on the first activitiy and all output components on the last activity.

    3.6.4 Mass creation of transportation lanes

    This mass creation is an alternative method of creating the transportation lanes. If you reached this point you may have created all transportation lanes already .

    In case you are lucky and didnt do it yet, just go on with TA /SAPAPO/SCC_TL2.

    Prerequisite for using the mass creation is one existing transportation lane.

    Save your settings as a variant and create your transportation lanes one by one (or make multiple lines at the same time if it makes senses.

    Each new lane is an exact copy of the template, thus individual maintenance may be required. However, product procurement entries are only copied if the product exits at both locations. So add the missing information if necessary.

    Go to the Transportation Lane sheet in the Supply Chain Engineer and double-click on the lane you want to change.

    3.7 Quotations

    3.7.1 General

    The location C2XX will source 30 % of its demand from D1XX and 70 % from D2XX.

    Maintain therefore the correct inbound quotations.

    Note: A common misunderstanding is that quotations are needed to perform network planning. This is not true, since all engines can work with other master data, e.g. procurement priorities or costs.

    4 SETUP FOR SNP

    4.1 Planning area

    It is always recommended to make a copy of the standard SAP objects and to work only with these copies, this applies of course also for the planning area.

    Using TA /SAPAPO/MSDP_ADMIN copy the planning area 9ASNP02 to your new planning area SNP_PAREA_XX .
