INTEGRATED ATPL(A) COURSE

Airline Transport Pilot Licence AIM OF THE COURSE:

The course is aimed at obtaining a Theoretical ATPL(A) (Frozen) with a CPL(A)/IR-ME SP + MCC Licence that

will allow you to fly as co-pilot on public transport aeroplanes.

PRE-REQUISITES:

· You must be at least 18 years of age;

· You must hold a class I medical certificate;

· Entry tests in Maths, Physics and English.

KNOWLEDGE OF THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE:

You will have to obtain a level 4 or superior TEA certificate; You can take the relevant exam in situ.

THEORETICAL TRAINING:

The course is made up of 750 hours of Theory on the following subjects:

Air Law, Aircraft general knowledge, Flight planning and performance, Human performance and limitations,

Meteorology, Navigation and Radionavigation, Operational procedures, Principles of flight, Communications, English

for Aviation, Class ratings, MCC theoretical course.

Textbooks: Teoria del Volo (R. Trebbi), 15 ATPL Theoretical Knowledge Manuals (Oxford).

The MCC Enhanced course (Phase 5 of the Integrated ATPL course) includes 36 Hours of Theoretical

Training, oriented to work in a multi-crew environment with turbine aircraft, which will be carried out in

conjunction with practical training.

FLIGHT TRAINING:

Flight Training is divided in 5 phases, the MINIMUM hours for each phase are:

Phase 1:

· 10 hours of Dual Flight Training until your first Solo Flight.

Phase 2:

· 10 hours of dual flight training;

· 10 hours as solo pilot until your first solo navigation.

Phase 3:

· 05 hours of dual flight training;

· 40 hours as solo pilot (including a 300NM navigation with full landings in at least two airports, different from that of

departure);

· 05 hours of night flying.

Phase 4:

· 65 hours of Dual Training for Instrument Flight (max 35hrs on FNPT II);

· 20 hours of Student Pilot-in-Command instrument flight, under supervision of an instructor on board (SPIC);

· 15 hours of Dual Flight Training for transition onto Multi Engine Aeroplanes (max 5hrs on FNPT II).

Phase 5:

· 36 hours on FNPT II for Multi Crew cooperation instruction (MCC).

AEROPLANES TO BE USED:

· Single Engine: Tecnam P2002JF, Cessna C172M/N, Cessna C172FR, Cessna C172SP, Piper PA28RT;

· Multi Engine: Piper PA34 Turbo Seneca V;

· Simulators: Mechtronix / Alsim FNPT II.

DURATION OF COURSE:

Courses begin every 6 months;

The course will have to be completed between 12 and 36 months, based on a programme written by the school.

CREDITS:

PPL holders (A or H) can have training credits ( reduction of flight training hours) of up to 50% of the hours flown

before the beginning of the course, up to a maximum of 40 hours.

INTERMEDIATE AND FINAL EXAMS:

During the course, the students will have to take intermediate exams, to check their training progress. They will have

to pass pre-tests before being admitted to the Ministry Theory exams. Pass rate is 75% of correct answers. Pre-tests

can be taken only after the relevant Theory lessons are completed.

The Ministry Theory exams will be taken at the Italian CAA ( ENAC ) in Rome or Milan Malpensa. Every candidate

has 6 exam sessions, to be concluded within 18 months, and every subject can be repeated up to 4 times. After you

pass all exams, you will obtain your ATPL Theory.

The skill Test is divided into two flight sessions, lasting approximately 2 hours each , to obtain a CPL(A) and the

IR(A). Both tests will be taken on Multi Engine aeroplanes in Venegono, Flight school base.

If you pass those tests, you will obtain a CPL(A)/IR-ME SP.

After you fly 1500 flight hours, of which at least 500 on multi-crew aeroplanes, you will be able to request to take the

skill test required to obtain a full ATPL(A).
