1. RHiNO formwork applicaton
RHiNO is a universal frame formwork system
designed for a wide variety of use:
- reinforced concrete walls in residential and
industrial constructions,
- reinforced columns and cores,
- massive foundations.
2. Product features
RHiNO is a technically advanced and innovative frame formwork system manufactured with high quality materials and components. It is fully designed and manufactured in Poland.
The outer frame with the thickness of 12cm is made of 2mm thick steel profile. Each panel is integrated with 15cm thick, high-grade shuttering skin. Each element of RHiNO formwork system is hot-deep galvanized.
The tie holes in each RHiNO panel are reinforced with steel profiles with tapered holes that protect the plywood during assembly the tie rods. This solution boosts viability of shuttering skin.
Innovative solutions, high diligence of performance, high quality of materials and extensive quality check provides safety and long-term operation of formwork.
The system has been designed to provide all the
technical and economic conditions for all
residential and industrial constructions. The
dimensions of system components is easy and
convenient to use manually or with a crane on a
building site.

Conneting elements
RA Wedge clamp Permits to connect RHiNO panels and corners. It can be used horizontally or vertically. Centering tension bolt Connects panels, e.g. to the hinged corner, and is used for connecting walers for stopends. The centering nut 100 is also required. RA waler spanner Used together with the tension nut for cennecting the waler 120 or RA100 waler. RA bolt RA nut Connects PZ and MULTI panels to form column formwork. For a complete joint the tie 120 must be used.

Waler 120 This ensures the correct acquisition of the forces from the ties. RA100 waler Can be used the same way as the waler 120. Connects with the panel with the waler spanner. RA85 waler For the adjustment of wall timber pieces . Joined with the wedges. Double R-adjusting strut Single R-adjusting strut Aligns and supports the formwork. 5. Usage of RHiNO panels
RHiNO panels can be used without difficulty horizontally and vertically. As the panels are available in huge range of sizes RHiNO is easy to adapt to any construction shape.
Elements of construction that are higher than standard panels size can be formed by placing the RHiNO panels on top of each other vertically or horizontally up to 6m high. The maximum permitted concrete pressure is 60kN/m2 for single-tier and 55kN/m2 for height-extended forms. The construction of the frame and wedge clamp permits to connect RHiNO panels with a shift at a height. It is not necessary to use extra elements of the system.

6. Assembly and disassembly 6.1. RA wedge clamp
6.2. RA wedge clamp assembly
The RA wedge clamp as a connector joins the RHiNO panels to form a tight, tension-resistant and aligned joint. This applies both to the vertical and to the horizontal butt joining height-extended elements. The vibration- resistant joint also permits large-area handling by crane. The RA wedge clamps require nothing more than a carpenter’s hammer.

6.3. Arrangement of connectors

Horizontal and vertical RHiNO panels up to 150cm high are connected with two RA wedge clamp.
Panels 270cm and 300cm high are connected with three clamps.

6.4. Tying
Every standard RHiNO panel has four tie holes reinforced with a steel profile. Such solution protects shuttering skin during tying and extends its lifespan. RHiNO panels are tied via the tie holes. Before insertion of the rod, the plug must be removed. Unused tie holes should be sealed with plugs. To tie the panels it is necessary to use the rod Dywidag ø15mm and the centering nut or the slope plate nut. Each singe rod with a nut extends across sufficiently to the neighbouring panel.
When RHiNO panels are on top of each other vertically or horizontally, the RA clamps are used in the same way as for panels below 300cm high.
Furthermore, in order to provide additional stiffness to the panels, the waler 120, RA85 and RA100 can be used.

7. Corners 7.1. Right-angle corners
Right-angle corners in each construction can be formed with RHiNO outer and inner corners.
Examples of wall L-junctions:
A wide variety of outer panels size allows to form L-junctions for wall thicknesses of 15 to 50cm in 5cm increments. For L-corners the RHiNO MULTI82 panel can be also used.
The adjustment pieces can be located on inner or outer side of the corner. They are connected with RHiNO panels with the centering tension bolt.
Usage of outer and inner corners allows to form L, T and X-junctions.

RHiNO MULTI82 panel has the continuous row of holes on the levels of holes in each RHiNO frame of panel. Such solution helps to use this panel to assembly right-angled corners for wall thicknesses in 5cm increments. It is not required to use corner adjustment pieces.
Wall T-junctions are created the same way as L-junctions.
Arrangment of outer RHiNO panels and adjustment pieces allows to obtain desiled wall thickness.
Examples of T-junction corner:
Wall X-junction is created like wall T-junction. It is possible to obtain the wall thickness by using different widths of RHiNO panels and adjustment pieces.

7.2. Corners with oblique angles
To create non-right-angled building corner it’s necessary to use hinged corners 15 and 30. Hinged corner 30 can be only used as an inner corner.

8. Column formwork
8.1. Column with RHiNO panels
Square and rectangular columns can be formed by using standard RHiNO panels and outer cornes. The panels are joined with the corners with RA wedge clamps, as in case of forming the outer corners.
Examples of column formwork made from standards RHiNO panels:
Hinged corner 30 is joined with RHiNO panels with RA wedge clamps or centering tension bolt with centering nut. The connector for the hinged corner 15 is always the centering tension bolt with centering nut. The account of centering bolts is the same like the wedge corners.

8.2. Column formwork with PZ and MULTI panels
A column formwork can be form with PZ or MULTI panels. Four of these panels, assembled in the manner depictedm create a variable form for squere and rectangular columns. It can be adjusted in a 5cm module from 15cm to max. 55cm.The panels are joined with RA bolt, RA nut and centering nut or slope plate nut.
It should be borne in mind correct adjustment of formwork.
The maximum permitted concret pressure is 60kN/m2!

A MULTI panel has three continuous row of holes in the same distance as PZ panels. This solution allows to use MULTI panel as PZ panel.

8.3. Lenght adjustment
Lenght adjustment piece positioned between the panels can be simple way made at the construction site. Timber adjustment pieces smaller than 10cm can be joined with the panels with centering tension bolt wit centering nut.
For larger adjustment widths, use the 10cm thick squared timbers and 21mm thick shuttering skin. To adjust the panels it is neccesary to use the waler 120, RA100 or RA82. It also has to be tied through the adjusment piece.

9. Plumbing up of the formwork To plumbing up the RHiNO panels the single or double R-adjusting strut can be used.
For formwork heights under 3.0m the maximum distance between R-adjusting struts must not exceed 2.25m.
The base plate of the strut has three holes that permits to correct attachment to the foundation slab.
The connector of the R-adjusting strut allows to join it with the panel horizontally or vertically.

10. Handling formwork with a crane
The crane hook has a maximum load-bearing capacity of 500kg (5kN). In this way, by using 2 hooks it is possible to shifted formwork unit up to 25m2.
The hook must be connected with the fastening pin withdrawn to top hole in edge profile of RHiNO panel.
11. Technical specification The maximum permitted concrete pressure is 60kN/m2 for single-tier and 55kN/m2 for height-extended forms (according to the norm DIN18202). It correspond to the normal concreting conditions of walls.
Angle of spred of crane ropes can not be less than 60⁰.
The following diagram shows the pressure of fresh concret (Pb) depending on speed of concreting and (v) and consistency of concrete according to the norm DIN18218.
