MASTERS DEGREE MAJORS The Open and Distance Learning Major is designed for anyone who delivers educational or training materials via distance learning or is charged with the task of implementing distance- learning programs. (Available only online) The Instructional Systems Major is designed for students holding undergraduate degrees in a variety of areas and who seek to work in training and performance improvement. Students learn the theoretical basis for, and receive applied training in, the complete design, development, implementation and management of education and training programs. (Available on campus or online) The Performance Improvement and Human Resource Development Major focuses on providing the skills, knowledge and applied training in the analysis of performance problems in the workplace as well as the design, development, management and evaluation of instructional and non-instructional solutions to those performance problems. (Available on campus or online) Master’s degree programs can usually be completed in four semesters of full-time enrollment, though they may be completed on a part-time basis. Students must complete 36 hours (which include an internship), create a portfolio of products produced in the program and prepare written analyses of their work. CERTIFICATE PROGRAMS Human Performance Technology Online Instructional Development Certificate programs are offered on campus and online. Full-time workers may find these 15 credit-hour programs ideal for enhancing their resumes, becoming acquainted with the field and earning credit hours towards their master’s degree (up to 12 credits from this program may be applied).

Doctoral stuDents

• Doctoral students are admitted for all semesters but are encouraged to apply for fall admission.
