1 Preface

Thanks for using JW-G series metal detector.In order to operate and maintenance the machine well, this manual will give adetailed instruction about its function and operations.

1.1 Basic instruction1.It is used to detect metal in packages, remove packages which contain metalmaterial by reject device or stopping running.2.The packages include bulk product in paper bag, plastic bag and paper box. Butpackage with metal film cannt suitable this machine.3. The machine has function of Auto program setup, stable, high speed and highaccuracy.4. The model No. is JWG,which is explained as follows:JW G

5 Connect with ground: safety and reliable connect ground line

6 Interference source: keep it far away or shielded. Stay far away from bigmovable metal object and machines who creates a magnetic field

2Use independent power cable, dont use cable with other machine thatseasy to make noise.

3Pls cut the power off when maintain or clean the machine.

4Forbid non-professional person to maintain the machine when there iselectrical problems.

5For connecting signal with other machine, the DC voltage should below 30V,electric current should below 100mA.

3 Work theoryMetal detector adopts the theory of electromagnetic induction to detect.Detecting head is made of three loops which is circled on the fixed frame(there isone launching loop and two receiving loops.). Launching loop forms a fixedmagnetic field, and receiving loops create electric signal according toelectromagnetic induction, forming a detecting passageway. (As below chart 3.1.1)

When the package contents with metal material passed through detectingpassageway, it causes magnetic fileds change, broking systems balancedcondition, as chart 3.1.3.

The electric voltage isnt balanced again when there is metal material in the loops,so loops electric signal change, then the machine will deal with the signal, andjudge whether there is metal material in the package or not, as chart 3.1.4

4 Machine structure4.1 Simple diagram

4.3 Regular Parts Installation4.3.1 Conveyor belt Installation & dismantle

Chart 4.3.1

1.As chart 4.3.1 shows, dismantle 12 countersunk head screws between part(1)andpart(2) with cross screwdriver first, then loosen screws on the belt cover(3), takebelt cover down, take convey part (1) from frame(2).2.As chart 4.3.2 shows, dismantle 4 M5 screws between side apron (1) and conveybelt(2), take side apron (1) off.3.As chart 4.3.3 shows, loosen the horizontal conveying belt. Slide adjustablewheel to adjust belt(clockwise to tight, counter clockwise to loose), then along thesynchronous belt take conveying belt off.4.Conveying belts installment is converse to the above steps.

Attentions when running: The min size of metal material that metal detector can detect is decided by the

package(size, shape, weight, type etc.) and metal material(material, shape) andthe metal detectors installment situation.

When the machine is working, operators should keep 30cm away fromdetecting head, dont put any metal material near it.

When the package is passing through detecting head, dont make the packageshuffle with passageway to avoid wrong alarm.

Pls put and take the detecting packages lightly, avoid big actions causing wrongalarm.

If there is conveying belt in the front and back of the machine, pls make surethere is no contact between belt with machine.

Adjust the height of front and back belt with machine to make sure that packagepassed successfully.

Keep the inside and outside of conveying belt clean, avoid the metal materialand oil sticking on conveying belt and causing wrong alarm.

Wet conveying belt is easy to stick with supporting plate, so when startconveying belt, keep it is divided from supporting plate to avoid motor race ordamage motor.

Timing30 - 60 minutesto test machines detecting sensitity by testing card,adjust parameter on time, decreasing wrong chance.

In the dry work environment, pls use wet cloth wipe conveying belt insideregularly to avoid static electricity.

In the work environment of high temperature and high moisture, machinesradiating will be affected, test sensitity will decrease.

5.7 Program setupTouch Program on main menu to enter program setup menu, as chart5.7.1

Besides, there are two signals formaterials product effect in the software, they have 90 degree phase difference.Some material with small product effect in one signal, wave shape is flat; but bigproduct effect and change wave shape in another signal, then wrong alarm occurs.This situation needs to select phase to shield signal with big product effect and usethe signal with small product effect, when there is metal material, wave shapechanges very apparently, decrease wrong alarm chance.

Chart 5.8.11Signal wave shape: As chart 5.8.1, the grid area is signal wave shape

display area.Blue curve is signal 1, red curve is signal 2. Threshold area is the areabetween two brown line. When wave shape over threshold area, alarm occurs, itmeans that metal material is detected.

2 Preparation: Prepare the detecting package for auto set, make sure thatthe package doesnt content metal material.(if metal detector without photoelectriceye, pls set selection phase as No, threshold value as 6,Magnification timesas 250. When metal detector is in stable running, let the detecting package passand check the signal wave shapes changing.The signal wave shape will over thethreshold value only when the detecting package is passing through passageway,otherwise it changes within threshold value. If the signal wave shape isnt as above,pls adjust Magnification times to meet above requirements. But if metal detectorwith photoelectric eye, it doesnt need to set above programs.)

3 Startafter prepare for the above steps, touch start button to enter autoset, pls operate according to tips on the down left on screen. Exit button will hideautomatically, it displays when auto set is completed or cancel.

4 Ready to setenter preparation phase before auto set, pls wait for the nexttip.

5 Please put into products Put the detecting package stably on theconveying belt.(When metal detector without photoelectric eye, it will have a 20seconds count-down, pls complete the packages passing within 20 seconds. Whenmetal detector with photoelectric eye, it is subjected to the photoelectric eye see thepackage) During auto set, there will be many times about please put into products

displaying, usually 4-6times.6 System busy, please wait Metal detector is analyzing the passing

products feature, Dont interfere it. When it is over, times will add 1 automatically,metal detector will have next tip. Operate as tip.

7 Setup success!Programs auto set is successful8 Setup failed, please fine tune parameters or try againAuto set for program

failed, it needs to adjust parameters slightly(when metal detector withoutphotoelectric eyes), touch start button again to auto set.

9 SaveWhen it indicates Setup success, touch save, and write all theauto set parameters to current program group, stop conveying motor running andback to program setup.

10 CancelGive up this auto set, exit auto set.8Check: When the auto set completes, it needs to check all the auto set

parameter1 When package without metal material passes, no wrong alarm occurs

Put testing card with package without metal material, let them pass throughpassageway, then metal detector alarms. If no alarm, change testing card withbigger diameter metal, and check again. Follow this step until metal detectordetects metal. This testing card is detecting tensitity for this group program candetect.

6Maintenance & Repair6.1 MaintenanceIn order to keep normal running and extend its durability, please keep dailymaintenance well.1. Maintenancea. Pls use clean cloth with neutral cleaning solution clean the appearance of conveybelt after the daily work.b. Dismantle conveying belt and supporting roller after one weeks running, clean itwell.c. Check the damage of convey belt edge. If the convey belt is deviation, pls adjustrectifying deviation deviced. Check whether there is abnormal noise or not when the motor and machine isrunninge. Keep the photoelectric switch dry and clean, otherwise it will affect its work.2. Cautionsa. Maintenance and inspection must be done after power off.b. Dont clean convey belt and machine with metal brushc. Dont use thinner or toluene or other organic solvents to clean convey beltd. Dont use alcohol to clean screen

7 Transportation & StorageTransport, install and disassemble it with care. No throwing, bumping, turning orreversing. Prevent it from rain and strong vibration.

8 Open package & Inspection1. To avoid damaging the machine surface as opening the crate, open the topcover before opening the side cover.2. Check if followings are attached with the machine:a.
