IFP Branch Meetings – connecting the Financial Planning profession
As an IFP member I’m delighted to see that we’ve
got lots of excellent sessions and speakers taking place in 2012. Of course, all are relevant to our needs as Financial Planners and Paraplanners and you’ll find full details in this programme as well as on the IFP website.
The value we get from attending branch meetings is immense. With 22 regions around the UK, add your local branch meeting dates to your diary now, but check out other branches too as you’re welcome to attend any meeting in this programme.
2012 is a landmark year for our profession as we prepare to meet the RDR requirements. Being part of a strong community sharing ideas and information with peers is all part of being a professional. Branch meetings provide the ideal opportunity for networking as well as learning. IFP members are well known for our friendly and sharing attitudes. Through meeting like-minded people, we gain valuable knowledge from each other’s success stories and mistakes. We also form friendships so that when we need to talk something through, there is a strong community there ready and willing to help.
Of course, these meetings also help us gain valuable, structured CPD accreditation. They’ll also help us prepare for 2013, including help with new regulatory requirements around qualifications, gap-fill and Statements of Professional Standing (SPS) too.
Finally, my thanks go to the all the branch chairs and staff at the IFP, without whose hard work this valuable aspect of our IFP membership would simply not be possible. I hope you will take advantage of these excellent events. I certainly will be!
Rebecca Taylor FIFP, CFPCM Chairman of Membership Committee

threesixty, a major sponsor of the IFP for years, are a leading provider of support services to over 570 directly regulated IFA firms and 6000 of the UK’s most highly thought of Financial Planners.
Launched in 2003, threesixty deliver high quality support to firms of all sizes. We pride ourselves on providing our clients with simple, clear and proactive advice, when they need it, the way they want it.
threesixty work closely with our clients to understand their needs and aspirations: this allows us to create personalised advice and solutions to support the differing needs of each of our client firms.
We focus on three things: helping firms to protect their business, then helping them to grow and finally, for some firms to realise the asset they have created.
Our dynamic array of value adding services evolves to meet the requirements of our clients and currently includes the provision of industry insight, compliance and technical helpdesks, business consultancy and transition services, product research, fund research and technical training.
threesixty recognise that each Financial Planning firm is unique, with individual requirements, we therefore offer flexible contracts which enable our clients to tailor the services they use, allowing them to access the expertise most relevant to them, addressing their individual business needs without paying for unnecessary services.
The IFP offers a nationwide network of branches, each of which provides regular, in depth, member-focussed meetings. This ability to provide bespoke workshops designed for specific groups, at no cost, is a valuable and virtually unique feature when compared to other professional bodies.
