inVENTer® Quality & Guarantee

The inVENTer® system is designed and produced in Germany. The inVENTer® is made of corrosion-resistant, very durable materials such as plastic (no PVC), ceramic and stainless steel. All our products are covered by guarantee for 2 years. Furthermore there is a 10 year guarantee on the ceramic heat accumulator. An additional 3 years guarantee can be purchased.

Please follow the instructions in the installation manual. Failure to do this will invalidate the guarantee.

Liability:

The inVENTer ventilation unit was designed for comfortable ventilation in residential buildings. Use in any other way is considered as being an unauthorised use that can result in damage to the unit and/or injury to persons, for which the manufacturer cannot be held responsible. The manufacturer assumes no liability for damage or injury attributable to: Failure to observe the safety, operating and maintenance instructions in this

manual. The use of materials not supplied by the manufacturer. The responsibility here lies

solely with the company installing the unit. Normal wear.

DO NOT USE IN PERMANENTLY DUSTY ROOMS AND IN ROOMS WITH ABRASIVE AND CORROSIVE

GASES. DURING BUILDING WORK, CLOSE THE VENTILATION SYSTEM AIRTIGHT. FINISH THE BUILDING

BEFORE THE BEGINNING OF INSTALLATION OF THE VENTILATION SYSTEM! INFORM OTHER

TRADES-PEOPLE AND THE WORKS SUPERVISOR . DON´T USE THE INVENTER DEVICES TO DRY A BUILDING, DURING BUILDING OR DURING

GRINDING PROCEDURES.

Safety

Observe the safety regulations and warnings contained in this manual at all times. Failure to do so may result in damage to the unit or personal injury. The Heat Recovery Ventilator is a „SELV“ (Safety Extra Low Voltage) ventilator which operates at 7-15 volts DC. Under no circumstances must this be connected directly to the mains supply. Damage so caused is not covered by the guarantee. The low voltage used by the ventilator must be provided by the controller supplied.

Attention! If used in the same building as open fires, the relevant standards and regulations must be observed by the installing company.

With the exception of room sealed units (balanced flue), all fuel burning household appliances, including open fires require air for combustion. Heat Recovery Ventilation (HRV) systems can interfere with the supply of this air. Always ensure that there is an adequate combustion air supply to rooms housing flued appliances. HRV systems draw fresh air from outside the dwelling to replace the exhausted stale air. Take care to ensure that the fresh air intake is not sited close to any form of flue outlet to prevent poisonous fumes from being drawn into the home.

Installation Manual „general part“

The installation manual consists of the general section, and the manuals of the components (inner valve, tubes/ducts, heat cartridge and outer hood).

Read these instructions carefully before beginning any installation procedure. Failure to follow them closely may reduce ventilation effectiveness, cause a hazardous condition, and/or invalidate your guarantee.

PS: 25 mm = 1 inch!

INSTALLATION CAN ONLY BE CARRIED OUT BY A SUITABLY QUALIFIED CRAFTSMAN AND

CONNECTED TO THE ELECTRICAL SUPPLY BY A QUALIFIED ELECTRICIAN.

Planning of the ventilation (project): Fully prepare the project before starting the installation:

The project gives you number, type and the right location of all inVENTer devices and controllers including the starting direction of the fans. To guarantee the function make sure the following rules are applied: Pairwise working of all fans: „Supply air = outlet air“ the same number of devices work against the same number of devices (odd number). Change the starting direction of the fans if nessaccary (see the project and the installation manual). At the factory all fans are prepared for "outlet air“. Wireless synchronisation: Also a group of not cabled inVENTer devices have to work pairwise. Use the latest controller ZR7 to synchronisize this group wirelessly. (read the installation manual of the controller ZR7) cross ventilation: the single room ventilation system use the room for "ducting“. Therefore all inner doors must possess gaps (1cm at the bottom of the door) or ventilations grids of 100 cm². Alternativly unscrew the door angles 5 mm.

Order of installation:

Follow the order of installation exactly: (Attention – Inform and speak with other building trades (bricklayer, electrician etc.)! 1. Installation of the tube/duct 1.a round tube (iV14R) 1.b square duct (iV14V)

2. Complementation of the iV14R/V outside 3. Complementation of the iV14R/V inside 3.1 Installation of the heat cartridge and electrical connection 3.2 Installation of the inner valve

Service + Maintenance

inVENTer® www.inventer.de 22

Service and maintenance Caution Before performing any service to your inVENTer®, switch off the unit and disconnect power to the unit. The ceramic heat accumulator is fragile. Don´t throw it. For fitting and removing use gloves (sharp corners could cause injury).

General advice: 1. The inVENTer® - ventilation system is developed for continuous use with a minimum of

maintenance and service. We recommend using the inVENTer® all the year. Energy consumption is only about 2 W/h per unit, but you save 40 times more heating energy.

2. The inner valve must be open (turn to the left).

3. If the controller is "off“ close the inner valve (turn to the right).

4. You can change the speed and working mode at the controller (see controller manual).

5. In the event of a short circuit, electrical and thermal fuses switch off the controller and the inVENTer® units. Remove the disturbance and switch the controller off and on again.

6. There is an electrical protection against clogging by foreign particles, that will stop inVENTer® automatically. Switch off the controller and remove the particles in this event.

Maintenance: inVENTer® - dust filters are very durable and can be cleaned several times.

We recommend cleaning the dust filter as necessary, normally every month. Wash in warm soapy water. Replace the filter when necessary.

The pollen filter cannot be cleaned and must be changed as necessary.

The cartridge with the heat accumulator should be checked every three months. It can be cleaned in a dishwasher or with a vacuum cleaner. First switch off power, open the valve and dismount the fixture. Disconnect the fan and take it out – Don't clean the fan in the dishwasher! Take out the cartridge with the heat accumulator and clean it.

Check the fans once a year. Even if the required maintenance, such as cleaning/changing of filters is carried out, dust and grease may slowly build up inside the fans. This will reduce efficiency. The fans can be cleaned with compressed air and a soft, damp cloth.

You can order replacement filtration materials from your inVENTer®-representative or under: www.inventer.eu .
