SD Card Tested: Transcend SDHC 8GB TS8GSDHC10

The Raspberry Pi

+ = QuickCallWeb-Pi

QuickCallWeb

(not included)

The Raspberry Pi is a credit-card sized computer board. It is a miniature ARM-based PC which can be

used for many of the operations that a desktop PC does, and can host a QuickCallWeb-Pi installation.

Raspberry Pi is based on a System-on-a-chip Broadcom BCM2835, including an ARM1176JZF-S

700 MHz processor, a VideoCore IV GPU, and 256MB or 512MB of RAM

Lunacom provides Raspberry Pi units with QuickCallWeb-Pi already installed, that work out of the

box (if you purchased it from Lunacom, go to page 8 “QuickCallWeb-Pi Configuration”).

Alternatively Raspberry PI can be purchased from RS Components, Element14, Allied Electronics,

Egoman.

In this case or in case you already have a Raspberry Pi, you must proceed with QuickCallWeb-Pi

installation (see “1.0 QuickCalWeb-Pil installation”, page 6).

1.0 QuickCallWeb-Pi installation

NOTE: This chapter is intended to whom has not purchased a Raspberry-Pi unity from Lunacom

Each Raspberry Pi device needs a specific installation image of QuickCallWeb-Pi.

Hence you must verify and let Lunacom know the processor serial number and the MAC address of

your device before purchasing QuickCallWeb-Pi .

Firstly you must install a default Raspbian image on the SD card (here is a howto).

To view the processor serial number hit the following command (from Raspbian prompt):

cat /proc/cpuinfo

Output example:

pi@raspberrypi:~$ cat /proc/cpuinfo

Processor : ARMv6-compatible processor rev 7 (v6l)

BogoMIPS : 697.95

Features : swp half thumb fastmult vfp edsp java tls

CPU implementer : 0x41

CPU architecture: 7

CPU variant : 0x0

CPU part : 0xb76

CPU revision : 7

Hardware : BCM2708

Revision : 1000002

Serial : 000000000000000d

To view the MAC address of your Raspberry Pi hit the following command (from Raspbian prompt):

ifconfig -a | grep HWaddr

Output example:

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr b8:27:eb:46:2f:0d

Once you know these data, you have to send them to [email protected] so you can receive the .img

installation file via WeTransfer service.

Ver. 1.7 8

When you got .img file created by Lunacom, you need to transfer it to a SDHC card .

Note: After many lab tests, Lunacom recommends Transcend SDHC 8GB TS8GSDHC10.

1. Download and install Win32DiskImager from

http://sourceforge.net/projects/win32diskimager/

2. Decompress the SDHC .img image provided by Lunacom

3. Run Win32DiskImager, select the image file and the volume letter of the SD card then press

“write”.

2.0 QuickCallWeb-Pi configuration

The QuickCallWeb-Pi must be set up by default web interface.

ATTENTION: the IP address would be provided by a DHCP server.

Note: “admin” is the default administrator username and the password is “admin”

2.1 General

Settings->General

Ver. 1.7 10

2.2 Network settings

Settings->System->Network menu

2.3 Time Setting

Settings->System->Time menu

NOTE: The raspberry unit does not have an internal clock, so it checks the time from a NTP server

on the internet.

Hence it’s better to start the raspberry already coinnected to internet.

Ver. 1.7 12

2.4 Backup Settings Enabling a scheduled backup, you have to set up email addresses, SMTP server and its credentials

and let QuickCallWeb-Pi send the backup .img via email.

Ver. 1.7 13

2.5 Shutdown & Restart

Settings->System->Shutdown/Restart menu

From here you can check the system and services’ status and restart them, if needed

Ver. 1.7 14

2.6 PBX connection configuration The first step after system configuration is to set up PBX connection, select “Settings>PBX”

then “New pbx” and fill in the form.

Note: QuickCallWeb-Pi can operate with more than one PBX .

Ver. 1.7 15

ATTENTION (for Epygi PBX):

The Click2Dial function must be enabled in the PBX. Enable the "3pcc/Click2Dial Access Allowed" in

each extension in which it will be used.

Ver. 1.7 16

2.7 Extensions

After the PBX configuration, click on “Settings->Extensions” and then on “New extension” to add

and set new extensions.

Description: extension’s display name

PBX: extension’s associated pbx

Extension: extension’s number

IP Line username: phone registration’s username

Phone Vendor: vendor of phone associated to the extension

IP Phone: phone’s ip address; it is necessary to call straight to the phone to

enable the call duration’s registration (by phone’s Action URL).

Ver. 1.7 17

2.8 Users

After the Extensions configuration, click on “Settings->Users” and then on “New user” to add and

set new users.

Username and password: access credentials for QuickCallWeb-Pi

Different roles can be assigned to each user:

- admin: administrator

- user: views and edits contacts

- readonly: can only view contacts

Extension: extension number associated with the user’s phone.

Ver. 1.7 18

2.9 Connectors’ configuration

QuickCallWeb-Pi can import contacts from an external address book with LDAP protocol and place

them in an existing group; on raspberry Pi it can do it to a schedule.

(Appendix A explains how to Configure LDAP authentication in Microsoft Active Directory Services)

The Gmail connector needs Gmail user and password.

Ver. 1.7 29

3.0 Using QuickCall Web-Pi

3.1 Search

The homepage looks like the picture below:

From here contacts can be found by typing a name in the “dynamic” search field.

Note: the dynamic search starts with at least 3 characters; QuickCallWeb-Pi searches within first

and last name, company and phone fields.

It is possible to carry out many actions on each displayed contact:

- Send an email, by clicking on

- Show and edit contact’s data

- Send a sms

- Export data in vCard format

- Show the address in Google Maps

- Go to the url of the contact

Ver. 1.7 30

3.2 Calling

The most important feature of QuadrCallWeb is the ability to make calls directly from search fields,

by clicking on the desired telephone number (as shown in the picture below).

After clicking on a number the PBX makes the destination person’s phone ring; the actual call will

start only when the person picks up the phone.

3.3 Favorites

The most frequently called contacts can be added to a favorites list, preventing redundant searches.

You must click on a star icon to add the relative contact to the favorites.

Ver. 1.7 31

4.0 Tools

4.1 Export In QuickCallWeb-Pi You can export data in various formats and divided in groups ( “Tools->Export” ).

4.2 Import Address data can be imported in QuickCallWeb-Pi too, in various formats and inside a group (by

“Tools->Import” ).

Ver. 1.7 32

After selecting the right file and its format and clicking on “Continue”, it is possible to associate the

fields to the QuickCallWeb-Pi address book.

Ver. 1.7 33

4.3 TFTP Service In QuickCallWeb-Pi there is a TFTP service also, which is accessible from “Tools->TFTP Service”

Ver. 1.7 34

Appendix A

Configure LDAP authentication in Microsoft Active Directory Services

The following guidance is a step-by-step instruction for configuring the authentication using Microsoft Active

Directory Services via LDAP for QuickCallWeb-Pi.

Ver. 1.7 37

Ver. 1.7 38

This account will be used to bind the QCW to the LDAP server. This is necessary because Active

Directory doesn't allow anonymous browsing.
