Inspiria Knowledge Campus is an affiliated college. Affiliation came into effect from the academic year 2015-2016 after getting affiliated to MAKAUT (formerly WBUT).

Students are subjected to the rules and regulations of conduct and behaviour stated hereunder.

A. The college follows the semester system for the teach-ing-learning process.

B. The admission starts immediately after the declaration of class XII results of major National Boards and West Bengal Board examinations.

• Students selected for enrolment in particular course will have to complete admission procedures within the notified time period.

• The registration is valid for 3 years for BCA, BBA, BMS and 4 years for BBM in Hospitality Management (3 years course+1 year industry training) from the academic year along with the official gmail/fedena account in which the registration id was granted and will stand dissolved after the grant of the graduation degree.

• The undergraduate programme is divided into six semes-ters.

C. The final degree will be awarded by MAKAUT,WB. The name of the college will also be mentioned in the degree.

D. Candidates must have good knowledge of English Lan-guage.

E. Parents and Guardians should know that their wards are ad-mitted under strict understanding that the students must comply with the rules and regulations specified by the college.

F. The office must be notified of any change of address or the phone numbers or any other personal details for future refer-ence of the college officials.

G. As you become the part of Inspiria Knowledge Campus, vast opportunities open up before you. This also entails certain responsibilities on your part. The traditions and values which have developed over a year will have to be protected and pro-moted by you now.

Certain traits we cherish among our students community includes:• Decency in Dress and Decorum in behaviour• Punctuality• Disciplined, focussed approach to life in general and stud-

ies in particular.• Interest in each and every departmental/cultural/social ac-

tivities/ sports and games.• Follow up with the Notice Board daily.• Carrying of Identity Card daily. Exchange or lending of

one’s identity card is a serious offence.• The entire college is “No-Smoking Zone/No- Alcohol

Zone”. Preserve and obey it.• Use of alcohol/drugs in college premises by the students

illegally is strictly prohibited.• Violence or misbehaviour from any student will not be tol-

erated.• Ragging of any form is prohibited, if caught will attract se-

rious disciplinary actions.• Loitering during class hours is not allowed.• Secular ethics must be upheld.• The students are warned they must follow all the safety reg-

ulations while conducting practicals in the laboratories and the management is not responsible for any physical dam-age or mishap that might occur out of students negligence.

Each student is provided with college Identity Card. This card is to be carried always and presented at the gates, when borrowing books from the Reading Room, playing games in the Common Room, at-tending College social functions, etc.

• The Identity Card may not be passed on for use to anyone else, otherwise the owner of the card will be held responsible for any damaged or loss caused by the user.

• If the Identity Card is lost, the Vice-Principal must be informed immediately. A new Identity Card may be issued on payment of Rs.100 in the accounts department.

• In case of transfer or withdrawal from the College, this card must be returned to the College Office.

• The students are required to wear college Identity Card on all college working days. Failure to wear the college identity card will be treated as misconduct and such students will be barred from entering the campus and class room.

• Every student is expected to display the identity card on his per-son for easy identification.

COMMON RULES AND REGULATIONS

IDENTITY CARD

• Writing on walls, pillars, furniture,washrooms walls/doors is strictly prohibited.

• Students are advised to switch off fans and lights when they leave the classroom/washroom etc.

• During the mid-session break students are not allowed to leave the campus without written permission from the Prin-cipal.

• Students must be notified that college takes note of serious misbehaviour, insubordination, habitual tardiness, irregu-lar work habits or obscenity which are punishable by fine, suspension or dismissal of the students.

• Above all reputation of the college must be upheld inside even outside the college.

• The college authorities will provide two sets of uniforms to each student during admission. Students will have to attend college in the college uniform on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. They may choose to dress in other formal attire on Fridays.

• A student must obtain a minimum of 75% attendance in all pa-pers separately.

• For leave in case of illness a valid doctors certificate along with other related documents must be submitted.

• A student will be debarred from appearing for semester exam-inations in paper/papers in which he/she has less than required attendance without condonation.

• A written confirmation must be obtained from the Principal/ Head of the Dept./ Officer-in-Charge for his/her participation in case of extra curricular activities to get the attendance

DRESS CODE

ATTENDANCE

• Attendance at and performance in seminars/class tests count to-wards achievements of credits and promotion in next semester.

• Students are not allowed to leave the room during the tests & examinations.

• Students using unfair means during the test & examination invites himself/herself to a very serious consequences.

• A repeat offence will lead to the disciplinary action and/ or the issue of transfer certificate.

• Students are asked to get their own stationaries for writing exam papers.

TESTS & EXAMINATIONS

• All correspondence must be addressed to the Principal’s office, Inspiria Knowledge Campus

• It is necessary to state the course, semester, year, roll number along with the name of the student.

Students should take great care to look up to the Notice Board on coming to and leaving the college. No excuses will be considered if Notice Board is ignored for important notifications.

NOTICE BOARD

• The institute believes that the development of self-discipline, in-dividual responsibility and respect for rules and regulations by entrusting to students a greater responsibility.

• Therefore the college draws to the attention to all its students that it is unlawful for any student to possess, sell, consume any kind of alcohol/alcohol containing bevereges or smokes/cigarettes.

• Smoking or drinking of alcohol anywhere in the college premises is strictly forbidden. This includes canteen, playfield, washrooms, pavement around the college, games room etc. Students caught with the above stated act will be dealt with a strict disciplinary action, which might even include suspension from attending the classes for time specified by the discretion of the Principal/Gov-erning Body.

SMOKING & DRINKING

• The lane in front of the college is out of bounds for cars/bicycles for students.

• Parking should done in the area allotted for parking.• Entry of student’s cars/bicycles is allowed only with college stick-

ers on.• Parking should be done on one’s own risk, college takes no re-

sponsibility for damages to students cars/bicycles.

Theft and negligent or intentional damage to college property is pro-hibited. Repair and replacement cost will be charged to the appro-priate students and may warrant college disciplinary action.

• Ragging of any kind and magnitude inside/outside the college campus will not be tolerated and stringent disciplinary action will be taken accordingly which might even include debarment from appearing in the examinations or expulsion from the college.

• Any incident of ragging must be brought to the notice of the An-ti-Ragging Committee.

RAGGING

A student may not knowingly provide false information or make mis-representation to any college office. In addition, the forgery alteration or unauthorised possession or use of college documents or records or instruments of identification, forged or fraudulent communication are prohibited. False representation attracts severe disciplinary ac-tions from the college authority.

The Entrepreneurship Club aims to provide a conduit by which stu-dents can access entrepreneurial resources, network with community entrepreneurs, and share ideas. The club is dedicated to further-ing understanding about new and small businesses. The goal of the Entrepreneurship Club is to stimulate interest in entrepreneurialism among students and other members of the community. The college is passionate about building sustainable ventures and wants to provide the students a lifelong learning & support platform to minimize risk and to maximize success in ventures. We want to promote entrepre-

ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLUB:

Inspiria Knowledge Campus welcomes the contribution the students make towards the clubs college has. Inspiria presently has 6 func-tioning clubs, get involved and contribute to the future of Inspiria in general and yours in particular.

The sustainability club shall focus on environmental awareness and serve as a forum for all students to express their views and make our campus a better steward for the environment. The club’s activities would include fostering connections between academic programs and college operations to enhance student learning and experience through whole systems thinking and interdisciplinary understanding of sustainability principles.

The Social Impact Club is a community of student’s and faculties, who aim to build and support a strong community of socially con-scious students; educate the broader community on social impact issues; and engage to provide meaningful and helpful events and social impact-related activities throughout the year. Students shall explore how to use their expertise and functional skills to promote the common good, and engage in community building and social enterprise.

The club is responsible for recording and reporting events in the campus and coordinating in-house publications, publicity and serv-ing as liaison with the press, for press releases and reports.

The sports club aims at developing physical fitness by maintain-ing and increasing such components as speed, flexibility, muscular strength, muscular endurance, etc.. The sports club shall focus on developing an understanding of the importance of sport in the pur-suit of a healthy and active lifestyle at the College and beyond and to appreciate the aesthetic qualities of sporting performance.

The cultural club at Inspiria aims to encourage student’s interest, participation, and responsibility in the ingenious field through a me-dium of creative art and literary curriculum & scope. The inventive-ness is to provide social, cultural and recreational activities for the college community. The Club provides inspiration and opportunity to students to work on individual and group activities.

1. Admission in the Hostel cannot be claimed as a matter of right.2. The student must personally be present at the time of allotment

of Rooms.3. Rooms to be allotted will be occupied immediately after an allot-

ment is made.4. Every Hostel Resident must have a copy of Hostel Rules to make

her/ him aware of all the rules and observe them strictly. Igno-rance of the Rules will not be considered as an excuse.

5. No student is permitted to cook any food within the hostel prem-ises including Rooms.

6. Students will be responsible themselves for safety and security of their personal belongings and items issued to them.

7. Hostel resident have no right to leave the hostel on holidays, Sat-urdays and Sundays when the Institute is closed without the prior permission of the Hostel Warden.

8. Hostel residents are responsible for returning all the hostel arti-cles issued to them at the time of admission in the good/original conditions to the Hostel Warden at the time of vacating the Hos-tel.

9. Hostel residents shall not damage any hostel property, fittings, articles and items. In case of violation disciplinary action will be taken against them in addition to fine as per the damage.

10. Hostel residents should not possess/ play music system / Speaker systems in their rooms, they can use headphones for any such purpose.

11. The Hostel resident will not take articles meant for common use to their rooms.

12. Hostel furniture must not be moved without the permission of the Warden.

13. Any damage to the hostel property must be reported immediately to the Warden. Hostel Residents will be charged for damages.

14. Pasting of posters, writings, wall chalking, slogans of any kind or defacing the hostel in any form is not allowed. Fine will be imposed for indulging in such activity.

15. The Hostel Authorities/ Management reserves the right to make

spot checks on the Hostel Rooms of the residents to monitor and ensure hostel rules .

16. Hostel Residents are required to carry their ID Cards to be is-sued during admission at all times in the compound of the hostel complex and produce it on demand by the Hostel Authorities/ Management/ Security personnel.

17. Hostel Residents are advised to keep their rooms locked.18. Hostel Residents are not permitted to change rooms or to sleep

anywhere other than in their allotted room.19. Keeping electric appliances such as iron, oven, kettle, stove, hot

plates etc. in the Room is prohibited. If found the resident will be penalized and the item will be confiscated.

20. The Resident shall economize the use of water.21. Lights / fans must be switched off when not in use.

1. Admission in the hostel will be made only on Payment of Hostel fee and on producing the receipt issued by the accounts section to warden/hostel in-charge.

2. Students can make payment semester wise. The total fee payable for the first semester will be Rs.42.000 either by direct payment or through Demand Draft to the office.

3. Hostel will be allotted on annual basis. The exception is made to final year students, if any, who are required to spent the last semester outside the college in connection with academic ac-tivities like industry attached internship. In their case, hostel will be allotted for a single semester. In case, if they required hostel accommodation for a short period(s) during the last semester the management may consider the request, subject to monthly charges, with minimum one month charges payable.

1. Hostel Residents are expected to maintain proper discipline with-in and outside the Hostel in such a manner as to bring credit to him/her and to the institution.

2. All kinds of shouting, violence, knocking, or any other act or movement or behavior that is likely to cause disturbance or an-

noyance is strictly prohibited.3. Students should be courteous and polite in their behavior. Quar-

rels and disputes with fellow Hostel Residents should be avoided. Students should not take law in their hands and should always try to settle any disagreement with the help of Hostel Warden or with other designated officers.

4. Teasing, Maltreating or indulging in any sort of ragging is strictly prohibited. Disciplinary action including rustication from Hostel will be taken against the defaulters.

5. While in Campus /Canteen / Common Room and outside the Campus students should dress in appropriate manner. Adequate consideration should be given to local ethos.

6. Maltreating and abusing the Hostel employees and Mess-staff is strictly prohibited. In case of any complaint against them, the report should be made to the Hostel Warden.

7. Smoking/Drinking Alcohol is strictly prohibited in the Hostel & Campus.

8. Possession, distribution and consumption of alcoholic beverages, prohibited drugs, narcotic substances, and chewable tobacco in the Hostel/Campus are strictly prohibited.

9. Parties, Social gatherings in the Hostel Complex are not permit-ted. Any such event/gatherings can be organized only with the prior permission from the competent authority.

10. A Hostel Campus should be a place where students can have the best possible conditions for studying and adequate rest. As such due consideration must be accorded to other hostel Residents at all times. Noise level must be kept low to allow other’s the op-portunity to study or sleep in comfort. Television, Radio etc. pro-vided in the Common Room must be switched off by 10.30 pm. These rules are intended to ensure a conducive environment for all hostel Residents.

11. No student should keep any fire arms, lethal weapons, poison-ous things or intoxicants of any kind in the Hostel.

12. Any Hostel Resident, who finds his /her room-mate missing for more than 6 hours, must report to the warden immediately to ensure safety of hostel inmates.

13. No boy students shall be permitted to enter the Girls’ Hostel premises and vice versa even for any academic purpose includ-ing group assignments at any time during the day/night.

14. Any Hostel due or penalty shall be paid to the Accounts Depart-

ment of the Institute within the prescribed time limit. 15. Entry register has to be filled in by the student’s every time they

leave out of the hostel and when he / she enter back inside.

1. All applicants are required to disclose any kind of permanent disabilities or ailments or diseases or allergy at the time of ad-mission with relevant medical papers.

2. In case of medical emergency, the students/room-mates/wing mates shall contact Hostel Warden. Any Hostel Resident asked by the Hostel Management/Hostel Authority for help in cases of Medical emergency are duty bound to do so.

1. No Parent/Guardian/Visitors shalll be allowed to stay in the hos-tel.

2. Students will provide the name, phone numbers, address and photographs of the Local Guardian duly acknowledged by their parents at the time of admission whom they could meet during the Hostel specified hours.

3. A Hostel Resident will not be allowed to go for night stay or attending any function in the late hours in their local guardians or relatives’ place unless prior approval is taken from the Hostel Warden along with parental consent.

1. Hostel Residents are also responsible for keeping their room’s clean and tidy at all times in case no housekeeping services are available inside the rooms.

2. Proper hygiene must be ensured by every inmate of both boys/girl’s hostel.

3. All fans, lights and electronic appliances must be switched off when not in use.

4. For any maintenance complaint, the complaint shall be lodged/ entered in the prescribed register in Hostel office.

5. Electricians, Contractors or any other service person may enter rooms as and when necessary in the course of their duty under

the directive of the Warden/Hostel Authority. 6. Hostel Management reserves the right to change students from

the Rooms if there is a necessity.7. Disposal of solid or liquid waste shall be as per the prescribed

instructions issued from time to time by Hostel Management.

1. Violation of General Conduct Rules and general disciplinary rules will invite disciplinary action as enumerated in the Academ-ic Manual and Student Rules and Regulations as applicable from time to time. Institute reserves the right to levy fine / penalty to ensure compliance of the rules.

2. Any violation will be reported by Hostel Warden to the College Authority who may summon the Hostel Committee for an enquiry in summary or in detail.

3. Centre Director has discretion to expel any student from the Hos-tel after instituting due enquiry as per the circumstances. Howev-er in exceptional cases the defaulting student can be immediately suspended.
