1 Introduction to the Inspection ChecklistThe stable running of switches depends on the proper network planning and routine maintenanceand monitoring on the switches. It is necessary to find hidden hazards during routine maintenanceand monitoring. The inspection checklist provides the routine maintenance recommendation forthe S6700.

2 Checking the Running ConditionsA switch can work normally only after the following conditions are met.

2 Ambienttemperature in theequipment room

The long-term ambienttemperature in theequipment room shouldrange from 0C to 50C;the short-term ambienttemperature should rangefrom -5C to 55C.NOTE

Short-term operationmeans that the continuousworking time does notexceed 48 hours and theaccumulated time per yeardoes not exceed 15 days.


3 Ambient humidity The ambient humidity inthe equipment roomshould range from 10%RH to 90% RH.


4 Air conditioner inthe equipment room

The air conditioner keepsrunning steadily so thatthe temperature in theequipment room iswithin an acceptablerange.

6 Connection topower supply

The power cable shouldbe correctly and fixedlyconnected to thespecified position of theswitch. The powersupply indicator on theswitch should be alwayson (green).


7 Power supplysystem

The power supply systemshould run stably. TheDC voltage should rangefrom -48V DC to -60VDC. The AC voltageshould range from 100VAC to 240V AC.

3 Checking the Basic Device InformationThe basic device information includes software version, patch information, and system time.

4 Checking the Device Running StatusThe running status of a switch includes the running status of subcards, resetting information,and device temperature.

5 Checking the Interface InformationThe interface information includes the negotiation mode, configurations, and status of theinterface.
