China,theworldsbiggestgoldproducer,hassetupagoldsectorfundinvolvingcountriesalongtheancientSilkRoadwhichisexpectedtoraise$16.1billion.

Thefund,ledbyShanghaiGoldExchange(SGE),isexpectedtoraiseanestimated100billionyuan($16.1billion)inthreephasesandissaidtobethelargestfundsetupbyChina.InFebruary2015Chinahadalsocreateda$40billioninfrastructurefundforSilkRoadInitiative.

SilkRoadInitiative:

TheSilkRoad,orSilkRoute,isaseriesoftradeandculturaltransmissionroutesthatwerecentraltoculturalinteractionthroughregionsoftheAsiancontinentconnectingtheWestandEastbylinkingtraders,merchants,pilgrims,monks,soldiers,nomads,andurbandwellersfromChinatotheMediterraneanSeaduringvariousperiodsoftime.
