This is the third year in a row that Tiffany’s work has been recognized by the ABA. According to the Amer- ican Bar Association Acting Editor-Publisher, Molly McDonough, “For 10 years, the Blawg 100 has helped shine a light on the stunning breadth of legal topics and voices to found in the legal blogosphere. Journal editors have select- ed yet another stellar list of blogs. We hope you’ll find legal information sources in this list that are completely new to you and bookmark them for regular reading.” Great work, Tiffany! Congratulations to our five freshmen Honors students who successfully reached the final round of the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences Grand Challenges Challenge. The students chose to present a method for “Enriching Our Youth” by providing a way to improve House Bill 5 to include agriculture in high school curriculum to prepare students for pursuit of careers in agricultural fields. Ian Cobb, Jason Edmondson, Hannah Hawkins, Faith Parum and Jason Shamburger will compete in the finals on February 22. Congratulations to this team and thanks to their coach, Carissa Beamon, for reaching this high level of achievement!!! Two of our former students were honored by the College of Agriculture and Life Sciences at the Legacy & Leadership Banquet on November 18. Congratulations to Justin P. Bierschwale ’02, a Tyrus R. Timm Honor Registry member and partner in Bierschwale Land and Cattle Company. Justin received the Outstanding Early Career Alumni Award! He was instrumental in forming the depart- ment’s Finance and Real Estate Club and served as its first president. He also led the initiative to have the department’s courses approved by the Texas Appraiser Licensing and Certification Board, making Texas A&M one of the few institutions in the country with that designation. Justin resides near Junction with his wife Carmen ’02 and three children. Receiving the Outstanding Alumni Award was Don Kaspar ’49, a Tyrus R. Timm Honor Registry member. Don owns Kaspar Wire works in Shiner. His innovations include wire baskets made from smooth wire discarded by farmers and ranchers as the conversion to barbed wire was made and he worked on the first shopping carts designed for grocery stores. The Kaspar Companies have been named to the Aggie 100, with signature Ranch Hand truck bumpers one of their top products. The firm is the largest employer in Lavaca County and Don supports Texas A&M, the College and the Depart- ment. Congratulations to Don on receiving this honor! Have a great weekend!! This is a nine-month, tenure track position (60% teaching, 30% research, and 10% service) that reports to the Head of the Department of Agricultural Sciences.
