AARP TAX-AIDE
AARP Tax-Aide is a function under the AARP
Foundation, which is the non-profit arm of
AARP. AARP Tax-Aide assists people with
preparing and filing both Federal and State
taxes. The program also helps people claim the
Homeowners or Renters tax credits offered by
the State of Maryland. You do not have to be
an AARP member and there are no age or
income restrictions to use this program.
Volunteer tax preparers are certified by the Internal Revenue Service
(IRS), and they help only with simple tax returns, which will be filed
electronically. Volunteers do not do tax returns involving partnerships or
corporations, some self-employed persons, or rental properties. Tax
preparation at the senior center is by appointment only. Appointments fill
up quickly and walk-ins are not accepted. Contact the center at

SIGN IN AT THE TOUCHSCREENS
We would like to remind everyone to
sign in when they come to the center for
ALL of the classes and activities you are
participating in. Keeping accurate data
about center usage is crucial to providing
support to any requests for expanding the
building, services and programs at the
center. It is important that we keep track
of not only the number of individuals
coming into the center, but also what
activities people are participating in.
SNACK BAR NEWS Check out the snack bar for
some new items that are now
available. In response to
requests, Friends has added
some healthier options to our
snack bar offerings. Included
are a variety of nuts, string cheese, and nut/cheese combo
packs. We will be adding other new items soon. If you have
any suggestions for items to add, please speak to a snack bar
volunteer, member of Friends or staff. We hope you enjoy the
new additions!
