NOBODY GETS HURTRecognize. Eliminate. Document.

Our RED book is a tool used by

every project team to help ensure

our ultimate safety goal — nobody

gets hurt.

Knowing more than 90 percent of incidents are caused by

unsafe acts, MEC’s craft developed and implemented the

RED book — a companywide program designed to eliminate

unsafe acts by asking employees to identify hazards. The Craft

Voice in Safety (CVIS) mission empowers every craftsperson

on a project. In partnership with management — through

ownership, communication and prevention — craft are taking

care of craft to achieve our goal of “Nobody Gets Hurt.”

SAFETY FIRST

MEC’s Craft Voice in Safety

program is

on the front line.

Since the 1990s, MEC’s work

has entailed large power projects,

light rail systems, transportation and

water-related projects.

MEC EXPERIENCE

In 1928, founder Francis

Angino borrowed $15,000 from

his father to build the U.S. Post

Office Square. Francis repaid

his debt within a year.

MEC built the overhead contact

system on Boston’s Green Line

in the 1950s. This would mark

the start of a new area of

expertise in the transit market.

In the 1940s, MEC performed

the installation of emergency

power stations at both ends of

the Panama Canal.

In 1970, MEC begins

working with nuclear facilities

and a decade later branches

out to data centers.

In the 2000s, MEC’s

markets expanded to include

renewables, with a continued

emphasis on infrastructure

projects.
