WELCOMEDEAR FTFWC FAMILY AND FR IENDS
Raquel and I and the Executive Core extend a
warm greeting to you and your family. We feel
humbled for the opportunity to serve you and
are blessed to live life together with you.
A few days ago I read a story1 about a
confused Russian Rabbi that had lost his calling
and purpose. One morning as he wandered
aimlessly and confused on the snow covered
Russian country side, he unknowingly crossed
onto a military compound.
“Who are you, and what are you doing here,”
barked a young, rifle-carrying, military security
guard. After a few moments, the Rabbi answered,
“Young man, how much do you earn per
day?”Again the soldier asked, “Who are you and
what are you doing here?”
The Rabbi responded: “I will pay you your daily
wage if you ask me those two questions every
day!”
In a sense, this booklet is for Fountain of Truth
Family Worship Center members to ask and
answer important Kingdom questions.
• Who are we? • What are we doing here?
• Why do we exist as a church?
• Where are we going (Before we get to
heaven)?
This booklet will also re-introduce you with
our vision statements, the Executive Core, our
schedules and all recent changes. In the past
six months (January – June ’09) we have:
• Relocated to our new 34,000 sq church
facility.• Restructured our executive core and staff
and• Restated our vision and purpose
statements• Renamed our church – Fountain of Truth
Family Worship Center
You will notice that this booklet contains
more information about our Community Life
Groups. Although every area of church life
is important, we are in transition and on our
way to becoming a cell church. (Please see
additional information in the following pages
and at the end of this booklet.) Every phrase of
the vision statement can and should be lived
out in an exciting Community Life Group. Every
member is encouraged to be part of one and
then lead one!
The Executive Core Team encourages you to
connect to the vision and join the hundreds of
people that together are making a difference
in the Kingdom. Our desire is to share in the
transformation and transfer of lives from the
kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom of light.
Together we can reach the world, one person
at a time!
Respectfully,
Pastor Sam and Raquel Valverde

1. CELL CHURCH VS. TRADITIONAL CHURCHA Traditional Church• Is centered on programs.• Is centered in a building.• Is structured to make people “come” to the building.• The organizational structure is based on educating the people.• The majority of the people are occupied in the building in activities, programs, and meetings of different groups and committees.• Follows the western cultural model based on bureaucratic leadership, professional ministers and administrators.• Uses confrontational evangelism or invites persons to church services in order for them to be reached in the building.A Cellular Church• Is centered on people, not programs.• Focuses on the community.• Is structured to “go” where the people are.• Is structured to function through the gifts of the Spirit.• Members have time to cultivate relationships with other believers and non-believers in order to reach them and minister to them.• Follows the New Testament model of “equipping the saints” for the work of the ministry. Ephesians 4:11-12• Emphasizes evangelism through friendship relationships with the non-believers.• Decentralizes the ministry and incorporates the laity in order to reach everyone with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
2. WHAT ARE COMMUNITY LIFE GROUPS? (CLG)• They are small friendship groups that meet together to share life and offer mutual help.• In that intimate setting people share, dialogue and pray for each other.• It is a place where people can connect and establish healthy and respectful relationships.• It is a place where believers grow and mature and can discover, develop and use their gifts and talents for Kingdom expansion.• It is a place where the word of God is shared in a simple and practical manner.• It is a safe place where we can mutually open our hearts and experience God’s presence.

THAT . FTFWC. BECOME. A . CELL . CHURCH.

3. WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF BELONGING TO A COMMUNITY LIFE GROUP?
• Ambiance and intimacy – God longs for the church to be a place where his children can grow in relationship with him. (Ephesians 4:11-14)
• Security and confidence – In order for me to open my heart, I must feel safe and secure.
• A sense of belonging – A basic human need is to belong. The Bible says that we belong to the body of Christ and that we need
one another.
(I Corinthians 12:12)
• Identity – In a Community Life Group we can share values and objectives with others similar to us.
• Shepherding and care – New converts are shepherded and discipled in order for them to become leaders of a future
Community Life Group.
• Continual care and accountability – These groups provide care and accountability. If you miss, you will be missed!
4. WHAT ARE THE GOALS OF COMMUNITY LIFE GROUP?
1. To grow in our relationship with God - to know Him more intimately.
2. To grow in our relationship with one another - to love and motivate each other.
3. To grow numerically and multiply - open new Community Life Groups.
• This decentralizes the ministry (you) and incorporates everyone into Kingdom work.
OUR GOAL CONTINUED

1. PASSION FOR GOD – a desperate and continual pursuit of His presence through glorious and joyful corporate worship orthrough quiet, personal moments of prayer. Our purpose is to love God with all of our heart! (Isaiah 29:13)
2. LOVE FOR PEOPLE – a demonstrated love and warm care for people of all cultures. FTFWC is a place where the poor mayworship alongside the wealthy; the educated beside the uneducated. Our purpose is to express our love to all people.(Romans 1:14)
3. EqUIPPING LEADERS – a discovering and developing of every member’s gifts, talents, aptitudes, attitudes and character. We humbly place our abilities at His feet and pray: “Lord, use my life for your Kingdom’s sake!” (II Timothy 2:2) Our purpose is to be used by God.
4. PENETRATING OUTREACH – a deliberate reaching out with a message of hope to the hurting community. As Jesus steppedinto Peter’s “boat”, so we will reach out to those God loves. Our purpose is to go out of our way to share Christ. (Luke 5:1-5)5. HEALTHY FAMILIES – a duty to maintain the family—God’s building block. Our purpose is to be loving spouses, wiseparents, strong single parents and obedient sons and daughters.
These purposes are lived out through cells (Community Life Groups) during the week, and through celebrations (worship services) on Sundays.

The purpose of equipping is to release members into ministry. This process has many phases. A person may begin with the birthing process through Trees of Righteousness and discovery classes. Some may enter as established members and their Journey process may begin at the membership phase. However, all will strive to reach the position of CLG Shepherd through ministerial and Community Life Group classes. The Equipping Ministry at FTFWC also provides classes to our young people through Sons of Thunder or CHAMPS sessions.
We believe that everyone is a minister, everyone has a call and that your gift will make room for you.

Our objective is to serve as a liaison linking the community with our local church body. We will accomplish our goal by exposing our members to various community programs and maintaining city-wide, promotional strategies to present FTFWC to a needy world. As we continue to display love by providing social services our desire is for all the Inland Empire to hear the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We are committed to share, give, and pray as a church for the unchurched. It is not our task but our obligation to continue in Christ’s example of interaction with the lost!“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost.” Luke 19:10

Proverbs 31:30-31 “A woman that feareth the Lord she shall be praised. Give her of the
fruit of her hands; and let her own works praise her in the gates.”
At FTFWC we strive for women to love God, their husbands and their children. Our goal
is to equip Women to desire to seek God with all of their heart and to learn the secret of
fervent prayer. We are so blessed that we want to share our blessings with the world! At
FTFWC the Women minister in Community Life Groups, Children’s Ministry, Choir, Serving
and many other church ministries. There are some who minister to “Women in Recovery”
by sharing their lives and talents while other venture out to International and National
Missions. Our goal is to bring the Missions world to FTC and bless them as we have been
blessed. FTFWC women will worship God and give “...the fruit of her hands...”

Sunday Services - On Sundays we celebrate Christ in corporate worship and biblical teaching – we call that CELEBRATION. However, some may ask if there are any scheduled midweek activities? Yes! We call those cells, or Community Life Groups.WEEKLY EVENTS Community Life Groups (CLG) - Because we are transitioning toward a cell church, CLG meetings hold the highest priority during the week.Every member is encouraged to join one with the intention of eventually leading or hosting one. This joining is in the biblical sense ofbeing “joined together” to the body – “From whom the whole body fitly joined together…” (Ephesians 4:16). Each CLG schedules its own weekly meeting. (CLG Shepherds trainings are held on every other Tuesday nights. See CLG page for more information)MONTHLY EVENTS“Fear Not” (FN) Youth Events - On the last Friday of every month, FN presents Christ to youth in various creative ways. These includecreative services, dramas, skits, musicals – all with the intention of reaching out to youth that are searching for something real.Corporate Prayer Meeting – Every first Friday of the month, we will meet to pray together. The sanctuary will open at 6pmfor those who wish to come early to seek the Lord. Prayer services are scheduled from 7:30pm to 9:00pm. There will be a brief bi-lingualprogram of worship and reflections of Word, but mostly prayer time.
Senior’s Prayer Meeting (10:00am – 12:00pm): Senior Citizens prayer and brief service. All are invited: housewives, the unemployed, swing shift workers – anyone with a need for God. (Spanish)
SEMINARS, CLASSES AND WORKSHOPSThroughout the year we offer seminars and workshop for various group interests such as marriage, parenting and theology classes. Theseare offered once a week (for a determined number of weeks) or on scheduled evenings or Saturdays:Journey Classes – Members are asked to take classes of commitment to Membership, Maturity, Ministry and Mission. Theseset the foundation and are required to minister in other areas of Kingdom work, mainly CLG groups.

Our Community Life Groups are the heartbeat of our church and thrive throughout our communities every week.
What is a Community Life group (CLG)?
· They are small friendship groups that meet together to share life’s experiences.· It is a place where people can connect and establish healthy and respectful relationships.· It is a place where believers grow and mature and can discover, develop and use their gifts and talents for Kingdom expansion.· It is a safe place where we can mutually open our hearts and experience God’s presence.
Our CLG’s vary in nature and are made up of different elements. CLG’s connect in many facets of life. We encourage our friends and families to connect to one of the following CLG’s.
· CLG - This is where our friends and families of FTC make a connection, grow and mature into effective Disciples of Christ.· Youth Life Group - These groups are focused on youth connection, accountability and spiritual growth.· Focused Life Groups - These are various groups that are focused driven by common life experiences.
All of our CLG’s share the same vision, purpose and elements in each gathering.
Worship • Word of God • Fellowship • Prayer

CHiLdREN’S MiNiSTRY CHAMPS
The purpose of the CHAMPS department is to provide godly instruction to the crown jewels of Fountain of Truth Family Worship Center. This
instruction is given by loving individuals that have a passion for children & teens. The instruction includes stories, videos, crafts & other tools to help
facilitate student engagement & learning. This inspired instruction ultimately becomes the bedrock of the student’s Christian life. The CHAMPS
department also provides monthly worship services in which the children can participate in fervent worship at their level. This fervent worship is
a model of FTFWC’s Celebration service. This time spent in worship establishes a lifestyle that will follow them into adolescence & adulthood.
The CHAMPS also include a Junior High Class (ages 11-14) & once a month a High School class (ages 15-18). Our children’s welfare is of the
utmost importance. For that reason all members of the CHAMPS department must be approved by the English Executive Core & will submit to a
criminal background check. All this is done with the words of Jesus Christ in mind that are found in Matthew 19:14, “But Jesus said, Suffer little
children, and forbid them not to come to me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven.”
