INSIDE

In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at

many times and in various ways, but in these last days he has

spoken to us by his Son, whom he appointed heir of all things,

and through whom also he made the universe. The Son is the

radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of his

being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had

provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of

the Majesty in heaven.

Please sign up at the Welcome Center to prepare communion one

Sunday in 2015. All Elders and Deacons will be added to the

Communion Preparation list if not already signed up at the Welcome

Children’s Ministry News

Our children are going to study from the "His Story" curriculum beginning this month

in harmony with Phil’s sermons. I hope and pray that the parents will have discussions

with their children as they learn about the life of Christ.

first year. This allows him and the elders to evaluate his desire, giftedness, and the demands on his time and family it

takes to serve.

As the New Year approaches we begin thinking about

resolutions, ways in which we can start fresh and

begin something that will affect our lives in a positive

way. Some choose to start a diet and exercise routine,

to start recycling, to take a vacation, or search for a

better job…and while those are all good things and we

should enjoy them as gifts from God, let me suggest a

resolution with eternal implications. Consider this,

when you die do you take with you the body you

worked so hard to make fit, will you sit before the

thrown and reminisce about the vacations you took, or

will you enjoy the wealth that came from your labor?

Certainly the answer is no.

“Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for

which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 3:13b-14. Paul was adamant in keeping an eternal

mind-set and not becoming short-sighted on worldly things, and as we consider New Year’s resolutions let us

maintain such as focus, to not only invest in the present, but also in the eternal—to store up our treasures in

heaven. I believe that God created us for community and that through fellowship with other believers, through

Life Groups and Sunday worship, we will best grow spiritually. My friends, invest wisely!
