1. Portrait

1946/1960 INRA was one of the principal actors in the modernisation of farming.

1960/1980 Through its research and innovation, INRA contributedto the development of the French agrifood sector.

1980/2000 The Institute integrated new and fundamental technologiesin the life sciences (biotechnologies, molecular biology,genetic engineering…) in response to new environmentaland consumer demands.

French Initiative for International Agricultural Research (IFRAI), a new tool built with CIRAD (French Agricultural Research for developing countries), May 2007.

INRA is the Corner Stone for the Agricultural Research Foundation in Montpellier (RTRA with Cirad and SupAgro) and part of 3 other networks (Economics - Paris, Toulouse / Infectiology Lyon), 2007

INRA contributes to 14 National Clusters for industry, with a key role
