Procedure:
1 Initially take 2/3 quantity of water & add 1,3 BG in manufacturing vessel & heat upto 70 – 75 deg C.
2 In another beaker take cetyl alcohol, sabowax cs 20, GMS, coconut oil, bernel ester TCC, puolan IHD & heat it up to 70 – 75 deg C.
3 Weigh Ultrathix P-100 to the water phase to mixed well & add TEA in it with continuos stirring.
4 Then add phase oil phase to water phase under continuous stirring to get an emulsion.
5 Add N Hance CG 17 in remaining water mixed and add in emulsion.
6 At 400 C, add fiberhance, belsil DM 350, trehalose, metroark 05, belsil ADM 8105 with stirring.
7 Finally add perfume, color & adjust the product pH 4.5 - 5.5.

Metroark 05 Fluid Cyclopentasiloxane
Characteristics
Metroark 05 Fluid is a clear, colourless fluid of low viscosity, and high
volatility. It is non-polar and insoluble in water but miscible with
mineral oils, alcohols, Esters and other
solvents frequently utilised in personal-care formulations. Due to
its low heat of vaporisation, Metroark 05 Fluid evaporates from the
skin without producing a cooling or stinging effect.

Metroark 05 Fluid can be utilized as a delivery system in
antiperspirant and deodorant formulations as well as cuticle-coat
products and colour cosmetic compositions.
Metroark 05 Fluid acts as a diluents or carrier, helping to uniformly
spread actives and pigments over the surface of hair and skin. It
provides sufficient playtime in colour cosmetics applications, thereby
improving rub-in properties, reducing stickiness, and imparting
lubricity and a smooth skin feel.
In hair-care products, the carrier/carrier Metroark 05 Fluid supports
easy spreading of high viscosity fluids and gums, improving wet
combability, and functions as resin plasticiser in fixative products.
To alter drying times for specific product requirements, Metroark
05 Fluid may be blended in all proportions with dimethicone fluids
eg. Wacker Belsil DM 0.65 and DM 1 plus and other
cyclomethicone fluids
Storage stability
Undiluted Metroark 05 Fluid have a shelf life of at
least 12 months from the date on the delivery
note if stored in tightly closed original containers
between 5 & C and 30
& C.
The containers must be protected against sunlight. Stir well before use. If the material
is kept beyond the shelf life recom-mended
on the product label, it is not necessarily
unusable, but a quality control should be
performed on the properties relevant to the
application.

Product description
BELSIL® ADM 8105 E is a nonionic microemulsion of
an aminofunctional polydimethylsiloxane.
Application
BELSIL® ADM 8105 E is an efficient conditioning
agent in hair care applications. BELSIL® ADM 8105 E
provides a silky touch and strongly reduces dry and
wet combing forces. The product is suitable for rinse -
off conditioners, hair treatments, masks, pump sprays
and conditioning shampoos for strongly damaged hair.
BELSIL® ADM 8105 E also allows the formulation of
transparent products.
Processing
Recommended use levels of BELSIL® ADM 8105 E in
hair conditioner formulations are 2.0 % to 10 %. In
shampoos, a use level of 1.0 % to 2.5 % is
recommended. The micro emulsion should be
formulated at temperatures below 35 °C.
The emulsion needs to be stirred well before use.

Trehalose from Hayashibara is nature’s
protector. Trehalose is a naturally
occurring saccharide present in a wide
variety of plant
and animal life, enabling survival in the
harshest climatic conditions.
The presence of trehalose in plants is one of
the reasons why a barren desert blooms after a
rain. A good example of this protection is
represented in the “Resurrection plant” –
selaginella lepidophylla. Natural trehalose
protects the
plant when it is dehydrated, allowing it to “come
back to life” when the plant comes in
contact with water.
We can make use of this natural function of
trehalose to help protect against human skin
and hair damage caused by exposure to harsh
and changing environments.
High stability
Trehalose from
Hayashibara is
a white crystalline
powder. Trehalose consists of two
glucose molecules bonded by a α,α−1,1 glycosidic linkage. As such it is a non-
reducing sugar, and is very stable over
extremes of pH and temperature.
Readily soluble
Trehalose is readily soluble and provides
moisture retention and protein protection
when used in skin and hair care products.
Because of its molecular structure, trehalose is
highly stable during the manufacture of
products.
Trehalose can also improve product shelf-life,
due to its ability to inhibit the formation of any
volatile aldehydes caused by the breakdown
of fatty acids.

fibroblasts from dehydration because it
replaces water in tissues helping to retain the
natural structure of skin and hair. Thus it can
be used as an effective moisturiser affording
protection from potentially damaging climatic
conditions.
This is because trehalose replaces water in
tissue and reduces the damage from dryness,
heat and cold – retaining the natural structure
of the skin and hair.
This has been demonstrated under laboratory
conditions in which human skin fibroblasts
were cultured with or without trehalose or
maltose.
Trehalose provided the greatest protection.
Method: Culture media with or without 1% of trehalose or maltose was incubated on human fibroblasts
for 12 hours after confluence. The culture media was removed and the cells stored at room temperature
for 3 hours. Cell viability was measured.

Product description
Structural formula:
BELSIL® DM 350 is a linear, non-reactive, unmodified
polydimethylsiloxane. BELSIL® DM 350 is
characterized by low surface tension and a high
spreading coefficient. Due to their flexible polymer
backbone, dimethicones have high permeability to
gases (e.g. water vapor, oxygen), which allows
respiration of the skin.
Application
BELSIL® DM 350 is used in a broad range of personal
care formulations as an emollient. It allows formulators
to adjust spreadability and conditioning effects.
Whitening and stickiness of cosmetic products can be
reduced and skin feel can be optimized.

Mechanism ISCF™ In Situ controlled Flocculation
The positively charged N-DurHance AA2000 polymer is attracted to the highly damaged negatively charged hair leaving the hair with an excess of positive charge.
Hair is shampooed (with or without silicones) and the anionic surfactants (SLES) form flocculates on hair surface (in-situ) with the cationic polymer. During flocculate formation, hydrophobic lauryl groups from SLES coat the hair surface, creating a hydrophobic layer on the hair surface (no need necessarily for silicones). If there are silicones or other oils present in the shampoo, they are attracted to the hair surface during the flocculate formation (boosting of silicone deposition).

Applications
The most important field of application of BELSIL®
ADM 331 is hair care, especially in hair conditioning. The ability of amodimethicone to coat and protect hair is particularly evident in shampoo and conditioner formulations. They also improve wet and dry combability and provide a soft feel to Hair. BELSIL
® ADM 331 does not lead to an unde-
sirable build-up effect even after repeated use be- cause it is easily re-emulsified and thus easily
washed out. BELSIL
® ADM 331 is also suitable for hair condi-
tioning formulation and the recommended amount varies from 1-5 % depending on the formulation.

It is quaternary for formulation in hair conditioners, hair styling cream and lotions. It is conditioning agent for hair care formulations.
Procedure:
1 Initially take 2/3 quantity of water & add 1,3 BG, EDTA in manufacturing vessel & heat upto 70 – 75 deg C.
2 In another beaker take cetyl alcohol, prolipid 161, purolan IHD & heat it up to 70 – 75 deg C.
3 Weigh Ultrathix P-100 and add water phase to mixed well & add TEA in it with continuos stirring.
4 Then add phase oil phase to water phase under continuous stirring to get an emulsion.
5 Add N Hance BF 17 in remaining water mixed well and add in emulsion.
6 At 400 C, add N Durhance AA 2000, fiberhance, miconium CTAC 29, stepanquat ml, belsil 60082, belsil ADM 331, optiphen 200 with
stirring.
7 Finally add perfume & adjust the product pH 4.5 - 5.5.

CM 1000 Cyclopentasiloxane, Dimethiconol
Characteristics Wacker-Belsil® CM 1000 is a blend of cylcopenta- siloxane and a high molecular silicone gum. Due to its composition, it combines the properties of the low- viscose , volatile fluid, cyclopentasiloxane and the extremely high-viscose dimethiconol. The excellent spreading of cyclopentasiloxane allows a good distribution of the high-viscose conditioning agent dimethiconol.
Application Wacker-Belsil® CM 1000 is used in hair care and in skin care applications. Skin-care and skin-protection preparations containing Wacker-Belsil® CM 1000 impart a pleasant, supple feel to skin; it eases the distribution of the formulations and
improves skin elasticity. At the same time, it forms a water-resistant, but breathable protective barrier. This provides good substantivity and fixation of active ingredients. Use of Wacker-Belsil® CM 1000 in hair-care products yields sleek, shiny hair. Damaged hair regains a natural, healthy appearance. Wet and dry combability are improved, and further damage to the hair cuticles is prevented.
Storage Wacker-Belsil® CM 1000 has a shelf life of at least 12 months when stored between 5°C and 40°C in the originally sealed container. The 'Best use before end' date of each batch appears on the product label.
Storage beyond the date specified on the label does not necessarily mean that the product is no longer usable.
In this case however, the properties required for the intended use must be checked for quality assurance reasons.

Metroark 05 Fluid Cyclopentasiloxane
Characteristics
Metroark 05 Fluid is a clear, colourless fluid of low viscosity, and high
volatility. It is non-polar and insoluble in water but miscible with
mineral oils, alcohols, Esters and other
solvents frequently utilised in personal-care formulations. Due to
its low heat of vaporisation, Metroark 05 Fluid evaporates from the
skin without producing a cooling or stinging effect.

Metroark 05 Fluid can be utilized as a delivery system in
antiperspirant and deodorant formulations as well as cuticle-coat
products and colour cosmetic compositions.
Metroark 05 Fluid acts as a diluents or carrier, helping to uniformly
spread actives and pigments over the surface of hair and skin. It
provides sufficient playtime in colour cosmetics applications, thereby
improving rub-in properties, reducing stickiness, and imparting
lubricity and a smooth skin feel.
In hair-care products, the carrier/carrier Metroark 05 Fluid supports
easy spreading of high viscosity fluids and gums, improving wet
combability, and functions as resin plasticiser in fixative products.
To alter drying times for specific product requirements, Metroark
05 Fluid may be blended in all proportions with dimethicone fluids
eg. Wacker Belsil DM 0.65 and DM 1 plus and other
cyclomethicone fluids
Storage stability
Undiluted Metroark 05 Fluid have a shelf life of at
least 12 months from the date on the delivery
note if stored in tightly closed original containers
between 5 & C and 30

The containers must be protected against sunlight. Stir well before use. If the material
is kept beyond the shelf life recom-mended
on the product label, it is not necessarily
unusable, but a quality control should be

Structural formula:
BELSIL® DM 350 is a linear, non-reactive, unmodified
polydimethylsiloxane. BELSIL® DM 350 is
characterized by low surface tension and a high
spreading coefficient. Due to their flexible polymer
backbone, dimethicones have high permeability to
gases (e.g. water vapor, oxygen), which allows
respiration of the skin.
Application
BELSIL® DM 350 is used in a broad range of personal
care formulations as an emollient. It allows formulators
to adjust spreadability and conditioning effects.
Whitening and stickiness of cosmetic products can be
reduced and skin feel can be optimized.

Description
Carbomers are a range of polymers which are used in a wide range of personal care products as thickeners. They are:
• cross-linked polyacrylic acid polymers of high molecular weight.
• extremely efficient thickeners and powerful stabilizers at low concentrations in water and aqueous ethanol.
• anionic in nature and acidic in their unneutralized state and have to be neutralized with an appropriate base to
achieve their thickening ability.
• effective across a wide pH range of 5 to 10.
Typical Uses of Carbomers
1. As a stabilizer and rheology modifier in oil-in-water emulsions, Ashland carbomer:
• Provides a stable emulsion at low concentration, due to high yield value (prevents coalescence).
• Aids spreadability on skin due to its electrolyte sensitivity.
2. As a gelling agent for aqueous-based gels such as styling gels, Ashland carbomer:
• Is efficient at low concentrations.

Stepanquat Helia
It is a modern hair conditioning agent that is better for hair. It provides excellent wet and dry combability on hair in addition to excellent detangling and a soft, conditioned feel on the hair.
Nosilfix
It is natural plymer based on polysaccharides. It is Distributed along the hair shaft and helps to enhance active penetration on to it. Repair damage hair. Grives deep moisturizing effect.
N Hance CG 17
Conditioning polymer and thickener for hair and skin. Excellent combing and wet and dry feel on hair.
Procedure:
1 Initially take 2/3 quantity of water & add Ultrathix P 100 and neutralise it with TEA ans stir it.
2 Then add Rapithix A 60 under stirring.
3 In another beaker take remaining water add N Hance CG 17 adjust the pH with citric acid.
4 Then add advantage LCA, stepanquat ml and nosolfix
5 Finally add perfume with stirring & adjust the product pH 6.5 to 7

Key ingredients:
N Durhance AA 2000
It is conditioning polymer. It has been developed to provide long lasting damage repair and restore hair to its natural hydrophobic state. Protects against harmful effect of pollution and urban stress.
N – Hance CG 17
Conditioning polymer and thickener for hair and skin. Excellent combing and wet and dry feel on hair.
Procedure:
1 Initially take 2/3 qty of water in Beaker and carbomer 980, EDTA, SLES and heat it upto 800C.
2 In another seprate beaker take sabowax EGDS and heat it upto 800C.
3 Add B phase to A phase under constant stirring. When above phase cool neutralizes it with NaOH and add CAPB under stirring.
4 Take remaining water in another beaker and add N Hance CG 17 and adjust pH with citric acid.
5 AT 500 C add N Durhace AA 1000, BELSIL 60082, COPLYMER 845, Rockonsal, NaCL and perfume.
6 Finaly add perfume and color with stirring & adjust the product pH 5-6.5.
