Potencian la defensa frente a gérmenes intracelulares y extracelulares (Th1 y Th2)
Inflamatorias. Potencian la inflamación como la interleucina IL.1.
Quimioquinas, con efecto quimiotáctico sobre leucocitos. El interferón, sintetizado por los linfocitos T y otras células
infectadas por virus, protege a otras de la infección.

IgM: Es la primera en aparecer en la respuesta humoral.
Estructura: Pentámero (19S). Su presencia está
confinada en el torrente sanguíneo, del que no puede salir por su elevado peso molecular.
Funciones: Aglutinante
(hemaglutininas A y B). Citolítico (Fija el
complemento). Actúan también como
receptores de membrana de linfocitos B.
