Inlay progress:CD not used-

CD Used-

The roses maintain consistency with the album back cover, as the artist smells a rose, a rose is a part of nature, which is also significant in this album. Also a roses connotation such as love and being feminine are represented in this album. The editing effect of creating a old, damaged and greyish rose represents pain and discontentment which is also represented in this album. The barbed wire further enhances these connotations and emotions represented in the album. Editing techniques used was creating the whole CD using Photoshop, I added the CD features such as roses and altered the colours and resized and rotated them to my proffered positions.

1-2-3-4-5) In these inlay progresses I was trying out different types of CD covers and editing effects to fuse the CD with the background, I also resized and positioned the background image. In addition I added text about the production and the creating aspect of the album as this is a convention of an inlay.

6-7-8) In these progresses I added edit techniques in order to add colour which makes it conform to the Indie genre as it is vintage like. Also the text size is consistent with the front/back cover and magazine poster as it is ‘blippo light’ as well as it is white to further maintain consistency but also it compliments the CD and the colour effects added to the main image. Furthermore, a convention of inlays I identified was to include the artist website, I included this at the bottom of the image.

9) In the final progress for the inlay I changed the size of the text to make it smaller as this is the typical size of text inside an inlay, I also identified the colour whiter may be more difficult to read against the light colour background to avoid this I added editing effects such as inner glow and drop shadow, this makes the text more bold and apparent for the audience to read.
