1.- PRESENTATION

, Centro Intermodal de Transporte y Logística de Vitoria-Gasteiz,

(Intermodal Center of Transport and Logistics), is located in Júndiz's Industrial

area of Vitoria – Gasteiz. This center is a revitalizing agent of the economic

activity in our geographical area of action with the goal of stimulating the

implantation of companies that have the goal of developing logistic activities.

It promotes building land, also turn key operations and it invests in its own

constructions to be able to meet the demand of pavilions in lease.

Its strategic location defines it as a Logistic Node because it is the nearest

platform connecting other means of transport such as railroad, plane and ship

with direct access to the principal axes of communication such as the Atlantic

European axis and the north peninsular corridor from Galicia to Catalonia.



2.- INTRODUCTION

was created in 1989 as Transportation Center of Vitoria and is today

known as the Intermodal Center of Transportation and Logistics of Vitoria –

Gasteiz,.

It was created to fill the needs generated by the activities of foreign trade

developed by the local industry, of a few custom installations that supplied with

and brought over to the companies the processing of documents, payment of

customs duties, etc. in the historical territory of Alava, as well as to provide the

companies of the sector with a few infrastructures adapted to its activity. This

need was recognized by the Chamber of Trade and Industry of Alava which, with

the Enterprises of Alava (SEA) , the Regional Council of Alava (Diputación Foral

de Álava)and the Town hall of Vitoria - Gasteiz and Aldeasa decided to create a

Transportation Center that optimized a great available land between the

industrial area and the new RENFE's terminal of freight in Júndiz's Industrial area.

With the incorporation of the Transportation Department of the Basque

Government and Caja Vital Kutxa finance company, the organization was formed

to promote the dedication of 330.000 m2 of available land for transportation

activities, storage and distribution of goods.

In 2003, the following project started: an extension that it includes a surface

area of 379.745 m2, 122.587 m2 of which are intermodal surface railroad - road.

As such, it can be considered the premier Intermodal Center amongst those

created as Transportation Centers, with around 718.000 m2 area of gross

surface. In addition, the effective starting of the railway lay-bys, inaugurated in

April, 2007, is a goal that consolidates the overall extension strategy of the

project by promoting a major sustainability in the Transportation and Logistic

sector.

To promote economic development of our geographical influential area supporting

the competitiveness of the business organizations of the transportation and

logistics sector.

Not conventional industrial area capable of satisfying the needs of the companies,

vehicles and professionals who develop their activity in the sector of the

transportation and the logistics.

OBJECTIVES

The promotion and sale of building land and building turn key operations.

Investment in own constructions for hiring and besides, offering and

complementary services, such as: office rentals, parking space for industrial

vehicles monitored 24 hours, a full customs management, services of hotel and

catering business and financial institutions, gas station, roadworthiness test,

security guaranteed in a fenced and monitored enclosure.

the company’s firm commitment to the efficient management of services and

products offered as a revitalizing agent of the local economy in a framework of

Social Business Responsibility (RSE) and respect for environment.

The certification takes place inside an ambitious plan that is directing the

Intermodal Center of Transport and Logistics of Vitoria - Gasteiz toward business

excellence, since it is the first Logistic Platform statewide that has managed to be

certified in these three areas.
