JOIN US ! We try to act in a flexible manner and react swiftly to employees’ needs. We promote efficient information circulation – we publish a union bulletin, BIS, and keep our own Web site where up-to-date information on Committee activities May be fund. We offer employees group life insurance policies – PZU Życie. It is crucial for the employees to be aware of the undisputable fact that the interest of one person is identical with that of the group. That is why we would like to encourage anyone who is not yet a member of our Union to join us soon. Chairman KM Rudolf Grec „ We have built strong structures and authority in the plant from the very beginning, continuously learning and gaining experience. Both in the part as well as today we promote dialogue trying to develop all and any arrangements with the company board by way of negotiations. We have acquired numerous local and foreign contacts and have a good financial policy. However, what is even more important we have employees who are aware how they can benefit from being members of the Union. We feel their support and in return we provide them with the sense of security. We have already achieved much: beneficial working conditions, 13th-month payments, “grusze” (holiday allowance), a good Group Work Arrangement, Employees’ Retirement Programme. We have to always remember that there can never be complete stabilisation nor employment guarantee in global companies, and that we have to have to constantly strive to keep the negotiated “loots”. After all we are all aware that no one will give us anything for free.

NSZZ „SOLIDARNOŚĆ” is an independent and self-governing trade union established 1980 as a result of social resistance against totalitarian communist authorities becoming a legend and a trade mark for Poland all over the world. The trade union is open to worldviews and favours Christian values, while fulfilling its mission, i.e. employees protection.The National Commission of NSZZ “Solidarność” undertakes bold social initiatives in matters especially significant for employees, including “STOP 67”, “NO to junk contracts”, raising minimal wages.

INTER-ENTERPRISE COMMISSION of NSZZ “SOLIDARNOŚĆ”by PHILIP MORRIS POLSKA S.A.

is a strong union organisation, associating the employees of Philip Morris Polska S.A., Philip Morris Distribution Sp. z

o.o., Philip Morris Service Center Europe, Philip Morris Polska Tobacco, and Gegenbauer Polska Sp. z o.o.

We are the largest union organization in Philip Morris Polska and the tobacco industry in Poland.

We are present in both national union structures as well as international ones. Our organisation is affiliated with IUF (The International Union of Food, Agricultural, Hotel, Restaurant, Catering, Tobacco and Allied Workers’ Associations) and EFFAT (European Federation of Food Agriculture and Tourism Trade Unions).

We are members of the Secretariat of Food Industry Workers and the National Division of Tobacco Industry Workers. Through our membership in EFFAT we acquired a number of contacts with unions operating in our branch in other European countries. We cooperate with union organizations from the Czech Republic, Hungary, Slovakia, Lithuania, Romania, Croatia, Germany, Ukraine. Our representatives participate in the European Works Council of Philip Morris, EUROCADRES (a European organisation associating employees with higher education and management staff) as well as Workers’ Council. We cooperate with experts from such areas as law, sociology, work psychology, and economy.

INDEPENDENT AND SELF-GOVERNING TRADE UNION

„SOLIDARNOŚĆ” COOPERATION ACTIVITIES

The activities of our Commission focus on:

• defending work places and striving for fair pay for workers.• undertaking action in case of receiving information on an intention of laying off an employee.• intervention and assistance in individual instances of employee rights violations and conflicts with supervisors.• influencing the conditions of work and terms of payment.• providing Union members with social assistance in the form of statutory benefits (child birth, death of a union member/parents/parents-in-law, benefits related to a long-term illness) as well as social allowances – in justified hardship instances.• providing Professional legal assistance to the members of our Union.• co-deciding on the assignment of resources from ZFŚS (Company’s Social Benefits Fund).• supervising the operations of the Social Labour Inspection.• organising sports and tourist events, including local and international trips, camps for children and youth.• providing support for the Honorary Blood Donor Club, the Youth Forum, the Pensioners and Retirees Club operating by our union organisation.• offering the Group Life Insurance - PZU.
