Ufton Court Information for School Visits We are very pleased to welcome your school to Ufton Court. Please read this carefully, as it contains important information regarding operational procedures and arrangements for your visit to Ufton Court. Arrival activities: On the morning of arrival, activities will be led by the Ufton Court Education staff team until lunch time. After lunch, Ufton Staff will lead show to rooms and fire drill followed School staff leading an activity up to a refreshment break. Departure activities: On the morning of departure, activities must be confined to downstairs rooms, Long Gallery and priest holes or outside because the domestic staff will be working in all other parts of the house at these times. At this time there is the option of using the Education staff team to lead an activity like, for example, our drama activities re-enacting historical occurrences or battles. Souvenirs: Samples of all our souvenirs can be viewed on our website https://uftoncourt.co.uk/souvenirs/ If these are required, there is a downloadable copy of our Souvenir Brochure on this web page. Souvenir orders need to be returned to us at least a week before your visit. Orders will then be boxed up prior to your departure and the cost added to your final invoice. Please note that we do not accept cash payment, nor do we send souvenirs by post . Catering sheet: The catering sheet will provided alongside the booking form and should be returned to Ufton Court at least 2 weeks prior to your visit, by email, post or fax, to give the catering staff sufficient time in which to make the necessary orders for your group. o check for food allergies and religious requirements. o check for birthdays o include any day visitors/evening guests who may require meals. Pupils should not bring food items, except on arrangement for special diets. This should be discussed with the catering staff before the visit. Unless stated, it will be assumed that vegetarians will eat fish. Bedroom list: A bedroom list will arrive with the booking form. Please email, post or fax this to us before your arrival. o North Wing: one gender only in Arabella’s and Beauvoirs, as they share washing facilities. o Central Rooms: can be boy/girl mix as these rooms are en-suite o South Wing: same gender only, shared bathroom. These rooms are accessed through the Library so it is better to avoid using these rooms if your numbers are small. o At least three members of staff will have to sleep overnight if using all parts of the house o Please get children to strip their beds before breakfast on the last morning. Take off the duvet cover, pillow cover and sheet on mattress, but not the mattress protector. o Pupils are responsible for their own possessions and should leave the bedrooms tidy with their belongings put away neatly. o UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES ARE ADULTS AND CHILDREN TO SLEEP IN THE SAME ROOM WITHOUT UFTON COURT’S KNOWLEDGE Footwear policy. However, your group will have exclusive residential use of the house overnight. All other site users will be identifiable and will be discussed with you on arrival via our Hazard Exchange Form.

Information for School Visits

We are very pleased to welcome your school to Ufton Court. Please read this carefully, as it contains important information regarding operational procedures and arrangements for your visit to Ufton Court.

Ufton Court ~ Children’s Kit List

For your visit to Ufton Court, you will need to bring the items on the list below. Please do not bring your best clothes; comfortable, casual wear is much more suitable for the

activities in which you will be participating. Please name all your clothes and belongings, especially shoes, coats and cameras. Parents/carers – Ufton Court suggests you ensure your children do come suitably equipped, as outlined

below, to maximise enjoyment of their visit.

General Waterproof coat or cagoule

Wellies / outdoor shoes in a plastic bag. (All visitors need to bring a change of shoes)

Indoor shoes (Only bring slippers if they have non-slip soles

– light trainers are more suitable)

Set of clothes for each day. (Make sure you bring a long

sleeved top if you are doing Archery) Underwear Socks Personal wash kit, brush/comb Towel Teddy bear (Or other favourite cuddly toy) Nightwear Dressing gown WATER BOTTLE Camera (Please don’t bring an expensive one) Personal medication Black tights / leggings and black shoes / plimsoles

for the historical banquet.

In Summer Sun hat Sun block Shorts

Please pack your belongings into a holdall, case or rucksack which you can carry comfortably by yourself.
