INFORMATION ABOUT DAV UNIVERSITY ENTRANCE-CUM-SCHOLARSHIP TEST

The DAV University is holding Entrance cum Scholarship test (DAVUET-2015) on May 3, 2015 for admission to the following courses:

: All the candidates seeking admission to above courses may follow the website www.davuniversity.org for procedure and guidelines regarding admission.

1. IMPORTANT DATES

(i) Last date for submission of duly filled application form

for candidates appearing in three subjects (PCM or PCB) 11.00 AM-12.30 PM for candidates appearing in four subjects (PCMB) 11.00 AM-01.00 PM

2. ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

A candidate who is appearing or has appeared in the qualifying examination, i.e., 12th

Standard in 2015, is eligible to appear in the test. However, he/she shall be admitted to the course

only, if he/she provides the proof of passing the qualifying examination with the required pass

percentage of marks at the time of admission.

A candidate who has passed 10+2 or any other equivalent examination with minimum 55%

aggregate of marks in respective subject combinations given under section 3. A relaxation of 5%

marks will be given to SC Candidates.

The candidates presently having compartment in 10+2 examination will not be eligible for admission to

any course.

Note: If a candidate has studied Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in 10+1 and 10+2, and opts for the same for DAVUET-2015, he/she will be considered for the merit list of both B.Tech. and B.Sc. (Hons.) programmes. The university reserves the right to alter the combination of subjects for admission to any programme.

4. PATTERN OF QUESTION PAPER

The Question paper shall be based on CBSE syllabi of 10+1 and 10+2.

Question paper will be in English language only and questions will be of multiple choice (MCQ) type. Each question will have 4 choices out of which only one correct answer has to be chosen and the appropriate circle is to be shaded on the provided OMR sheet. Each question will carry one mark. The question paper will have the following four sections:

5. HOW TO APPLY

o The candidate is required to fill online form by visiting the website www.davuniversity.org. o For choice of centre, Click State > District > City > Centre on the online form. o Click the 'Submit' button and take the printout of the Admit Cards generated automatically. o Affix recent passport size photograph on each admit card. o Retain Student’s Copy and submit other two admit cards by hand or post to the opted examination

centre along with the requisite fee. o Duly signed admit card will be sent to the candidate by the examination centre by post. However,

the same can also be collected from the examination centre by hand.

NOTE:

o The candidate may also get the registration form from the Principal of the opted examination centre by paying Rs. 100/- and follow the above procedure.

o The filled-in form should not be sent to DAV University unless DAV University Jalandhar is opted as the exam centre.

o The University will not be responsible for any postal delay or loss in postal transit. o List of test centres is given in Annexure-I.

6. MODE OF PAYMENT

a) Cash

The candidate can pay the fee of Rs 100/- to the Examination Centre opted by the candidate.

Or

b) Multicity cheque or Demand Draft

The fee can also be deposited through Multicity cheque/DD of Rs 100/-drawn in favour of “Principal, ………………..”, (fill in respective examination centre) payable at the respective city. Candidate should write his/her name, address and mobile number on the reverse side of multicity cheque/DD.

For example, If a candidate has selected DAV Public School,BRS Nagar, Ludhiana as examination centre, the candidate is to draw a cheque/DD in favour of ‘Principal, DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, Ludhiana’. Note:

In case DAV University is opted as a test centre the Multicity cheque/DD of Rs 100/- is to be drawn in favour of Registrar, DAV University, Jalandhar.

Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

The applications will be processed on receipt of payment. The online application form registered within due date without deposition of requisite fee will not be entertained.

7. REJECTION OF APPLICATION FORM

1. Incomplete Application form will be rejected.

2. Candidates are advised to submit only one Application Form.

3. No request regarding non-receipt of Online Application Form would be entertained.

8.TEST CENTRES FOR DAVUET–2015

i. List of Centres across India where DAVUET-2015 is to be conducted appears in Annexure-I.

ii. The candidate should select only one centre for the entrance test from Annexure-I.

iii. The examination centre once filled in the application form will not be changed.

iv. Though every effort will be made to allot the centre selected by the candidate, yet the University

reserves the right to allot the centre other than the candidate’s choice.

9. ADMIT CARD

The Admit Card will be issued only to those eligible candidates who have submitted their

application forms complete in all respects, on or before the last date.

Admit Card will be sent by post or can be collected by hand from the respective test centres.

If the candidate does not receive the Admit Card by due date he/she should contact the

respective examination centre at least two days before the exam date.

The Admit Card once received should be carefully examined by the candidate. If any discrepancy

is noticed it should immediately be brought to the notice of the Admission co-ordinator in the

respective test centre.

No candidate will be permitted to appear in the test without a valid Admit Card.

Candidate must not tamper with the Admit Card.

The Admit Card is not transferable to any other person

The Admit Card is an important document. It should be preserved and produced at the time of

counseling and admission.

10. ENTRANCE EXAMINATION (DAVUET-2015) RULES

Candidate is directed to enter the respective Examination Hall 30 minutes prior to the

commencement of the examination.

Candidate will not be permitted to enter the Examination Hall 30 minutes after the commencement

of the examination.

Candidates should find and occupy their allotted seats as per the seating plan.

Any other text material in printed or written form (i.e. log tables, formula book etc.) and electronic

devices (i.e. blue tooth, mobile phone, pager, programmable calculators etc.) will not be permitted

into the examination hall.

Only blue/black ball-point pens are allowed for shading the appropriate circles on the OMR sheet.

Candidates need to read all the instructions given on the question paper and OMR sheet before

attempting the paper.

The candidate shall have to return the original OMR Sheet and question paper to the

Invigilator before leaving the examination hall.

The maximum qualification of a writer in case of medical emergency is Matric. The candidate should contact the Admission coordinator of his/her respective centre before the commencement of the entrance test for the arrangement of writer and other formalities.

Any malpractice committed during examination would lead to cancellation of the eligibility of the

candidate for admission.

All India Entrance-cum-Scholarship Test (DAVUET-2015) will be governed by the rules and

regulations of the DAV University Jalandhar.

DAV University reserves the right to withdraw permission, if any, granted inadvertently to any

candidate who is not eligible to appear in the DAVUET-2015 even though the Roll Number and

Admit Card may have been issued.

No TA will be paid to the candidates.

Canvassing in any form will disqualify the candidate.

Candidates will not be allowed to write any question from the Test Booklet on the Admission Card

or on any other paper to be taken out of the examination hall.

All legal disputes pertaining to this Test shall fall within the jurisdiction of Jalandhar Courts only.

Appearance in DAVUET-2015 does not confer any right on the candidate for admission to any

course. This will be decided solely on merit in Entrance Test and production of eligibility documents

at the time of admission.

DAV UNIVERSITY JALANDHAR

The admission to DAV University, Jalandhar is subject to fulfillment of the eligibility and any other

criteria as prescribed by the DAV University, Jalandhar.

Instructions in the Information Bulletin are subject to change from time to time. There is no equity

or right that is deemed to be arising in favour of candidates.

In case any information in this application is found to be false or incorrect at any time (even during

or after completion of the course), it shall entail automatic cancellation of candidate’s admission, if

granted, cancellation of the degree if awarded, besides rendering him/her liable to such action as

the University may deem fit. The interpretation of the University authorities shall be final and binding.

11. DECLARATION OF RESULT After the evaluation of Answer Sheets result is likely to be declared by 15th May, 2015and the same will be

available on website www.davuniversity.org.

A merit list will be prepared based on the total marks secured in the DAVUET-2015. There will be no separate merit list of SC/ST candidates.

There is no provision for re-checking/re-evaluation of the answer sheets. No correspondence in this regard will be entertained.

12. COUNSELLING RULES

The date / time for counselling will be published on the university website: www.davuniversity.org. Candidates can download and take a printout of their counseling letter and counseling record from the University website and appear for the counseling as per the counseling schedule.

The short-listed candidates based on their performance in the entrance examination will be

called for the counselling to be held at the DAV University premises in Jalandhar, Punjab and/

or at a Centre to be notified later subsequent to the declaration of the result.

It is the responsibility of the candidates to ascertain whether they possess the requisite

qualification for admission. Having been called for the counseling does not necessarily mean

acceptance of the eligibility claimed by the candidate.

The provisional admission offered to a candidate to a program will stand cancelled if he / she

does not submit the relevant documents in original, pertaining to admission (such as Marks

Statements, Transfer Certificate, Conduct Certificate, etc.).

Change of date / time of counselling are generally not permissible. If a candidate does not appear

for counseling / Interview on the date and time specified, his / her seat shall be offered to the

next candidate in order of merit.

The selected candidates will have to remit the prescribed fee on confirmation of the seat and

acceptance of the branch allotted.

The candidates should produce the following documents in original along with one set of

photocopies while reporting for counseling. Candidates will not be allowed to participate in the

counseling process without these documents.
