Information Design is an important profession emerging in response to the information age. By converting and organizing complex information through a combination of graphic elements and technical writing skills, Information Designers transform an otherwise uncomprehensibemaze of data and transform it into a platform for understanding and usability.

One can develop this ability by applying the theories of simplicity suggested by Edward Tufte and the principle behind Occams razor. Examining the research, field testing and planning methods involved in the case studies explained in the “Information Design Workbook.” Also by examining the different experiences and revelations in the pursuit of universal timeless understanding suggested by many of the contributors to the “Information Design” text. Meanwhile applying thses skills in a professional environment that often addresses a multitide of other factors such as time management and client relationships necessitating a variety of equally important general competencies All these sources suggest that a combination of practices and principles found in this chart will provide the foundation for someone to pursue a career in this important field of field of study and partake in shaping the future of c communication .
