Tips for Designing Infographics
• Be concise - Convey one idea really well.
• Be visual - Use a good size for making it
sharable online.
• Be smarter - Don't make readers have to work
to understand what they are seeing.
• Be transparent - Cite your data source and
don't mislead your readers.
• Be different - Use bar, line, and pie charts
sparingly.
Tips for Designing Infographics
• Be accurate - Don't mislead with improper scale of
shapes.
• Be attractive - Use illustrations and photos to enhance
the data. Use san serif instead of serif fonts. Use eye
pleasing color combinations (font color & background).
• Be varied - Use a theme that represents your topic.
• Be gracious - Cite your sources and give yourself credit
too.
• Be creative - Use good tools easel.ly, pictochart and
infogr.am
