Job Title: Direct Marketing Officer Reports to: Direct Marketing Manager Department: Fundraising Purpose: To implement assigned Direct Marketing Campaigns (as part of the Individual Giving Team) against agreed income and expenditure targets. To ensure that assigned Direct Marketing Campaigns are project managed efficiently and effectively – as part of the overall Direct Marketing Programme and to implement and promote best practice in campaign management. Main Responsibilities:
1. To plan, develop and implement assigned Direct Marketing Campaigns (including direct debit campaigns, raffles campaigns, legacy marketing, payroll giving and telemarketing campaigns) as part of the overall Direct Marketing Programme.
2. To excel in the campaign management of assigned Direct Marketing Campaigns and to be accountable for operating against agreed schedules and processes, liaising with internal and external customers and suppliers as agreed.
3. To demonstrate best practice in working with key internal and external stakeholders/suppliers to ensure maximum efficiency and campaign effectiveness.
4. To take accountability for ensuring that assigned Direct Marketing Campaigns are managed against agreed expenditure levels.
5. To track, analyse and report on results from assigned Direct Marketing campaigns and monitor supporter feedback. And to conduct and present detailed End of Campaign Reports for Direct Marketing Campaigns which feed into the planning of future campaigns as appropriate.
6. To work with the Senior Database Marketing Co-ordinator on the extraction, supply, returns & analysis of data for assigned Direct Marketing Campaigns - and to demonstrate best practice in this area.
Additional Responsibilities:
1. To ensure that all Direct Marketing Campaigns support Anthony Nolan’s evolving brand and follow agreed brand guidelines.
2. To be pro-active in keeping abreast of industry developments and relevant laws. Undertake training as necessary.
3. To handle ad-hoc queries and requests from internal colleagues on operational aspects of Direct Marketing as requested by the Direct Marketing Manager.
4. To support and contribute to the wider objectives of the Individual Giving Team and to manage other projects as required by the Direct Marketing Manager or Head of Individual Giving.
5. To liaise with external agencies, as and when required. 6. To attend and actively contribute to Individual Giving Team, Fundraising Team
and other meetings which may be held away from the office 7. To represent the Individual Giving Team at meetings with external agencies as
appropriate. 8. To deputise for the Direct Marketing Manager as and when required. 9. To undertake any other activity reasonably requested by the Head of Individual

Person Specification:
• Proven experience of developing market leading creative. • Proven direct marketing project management skills (particularly direct debit
appeals, raffles, door-to-door, telemarketing and legacy marketing). • Proven knowledge of working with Excel spreadsheets and databases to prepare
and analyse data for supporter communications as part of an overall Supporter Development Programme.
• Proven fundraising experience. • Experience of managing legacy marketing campaigns (desirable) • Experience of managing telemarketing campaigns • Knowledge of direct marketing techniques. • Ability to understand and interpret complex situations. • Ability to make judgements, and recognise when required decision is outside
scope of responsibility. • Clear and appropriate communication – written and verbal. • Knowledge of appropriate processes and strategies. • Ability to establish relationships of trust with colleagues, agencies, suppliers
and collaborators. • Able to work with internet and main Microsoft Office products.
