Course begins September 28th – ends December 12 th 2017 Meet the Instructor Welcome to Data Analysis and Knowledge Discovery. As young professionals interested in the career in information science, this course will prepare you for data science and data analytics jobs and equip you broad knowledge of the required tools, techniques, and methods. This course is designed for the aspiring or practicing information professional and covers the basics of working with data from a hands- on and practical perspective. It is important for you to have a strong understanding of theories associated with data analysis, data mining, text mining and knowledge discovery principles, concepts, theories, and practices. I want to share a little information about myself. I have a Bachelors degree in Biomedical Engineering and a Masters degree in Information Management. Additionally, I have as Masters degree in Information Systems. I have 16 years of work experience in the IT sector where I started my career as a Business Analyst and worked my way up to serve as Section Head, Systems and Knowledge Management, which involved being a Systems corporate trainer. I have been an adjunct faculty member, and have taught courses in the masters program in information management. I am currently working towards my Ph.D. in Information Science with a concentration in Cyber Security in the College of Information, here at the University of North Texas.
