Engraving – A metal surface is permanently marked; the icon and icon shown throughout the catalog indicate metal surfaces that can be engraved for personalization. The surface of many metal urns can be engraved, however, not all metal urns can be engraved. The surface of a few 14k gold or sterling silver pieces of keepsake jewelry can be engraved. Names, Dates, Words of Sentiment & ArtworkEngraving, laser-etching and sand-blasting can include personal information such as names, dates and words of sentiment. You can also choose from a vast selection of artwork in a variety of themes and motifs to express the personalization you desire.

Typestyle – The first thing to determine is the type style you would like to use for the letters and numbers to be engraved, laser-etched or sand-blasted; please note that some items are available in only one typestyle. The following selections are available:

• Block or Block • Roman or Roman • Script

Size & Positioning - The font size of the letters and numbers will be determined by our personalization technicians based upon the amount of available space and your positioning requests. Some products in this catalog indicate the maximum number of lines that will fit. Other considerations include the size and shape of the piece being personalized and the positioning of other personalization elements such as an appliqué or artwork. Please note that engravable space on a piece of keepsake jewelry is limited to three or four characters in most instances.

Formatting of Names & Dates – Names and dates can be formatted in a variety of ways. The following examples illustrate:

Words of Sentiment – Words of sentiment are generally limited to short phrases of one or two lines depending on available space. Our personalization technicians will determine availability of space for desired text. The following examples illustrate:

Artwork – Artwork selected from a variety of themes and motifs is applied to the surface of an urn by engraving, laser-etching or sand-blasting. We offer over 400 styles of artwork in the following categories:

Specific Guidelines Regarding Sand-Blasted & Laser-Etched Photograph Personalization

• We request that you submit two different photographs; our personalization technicians will choose the photo that will provide the best results.

• Photos need to be unblemished and undamaged black & white or color; we do not provide photo restoration or touch-up services.

• Photos sent electronically must be sent from a deathcare establishment; photos need to be at least 300 dpi and sent as a jpg file; emails must include the name of the deathcare establishment, address, phone number and name of contact person.

• Photos sent via USPS, UPS, FedEx, etc. must be sent from a deathcare establishment and include the name of the establishment, address, phone number and name of contact person; photos will be returned to the deathcare establishment.

• Please allow 7 to 10 business days from our receipt of your signed approval of the proof to complete the production of laser-etched photograph personalization; this does not include time in shipment to you.

• Our personalization technicians reserve the right to refuse production based on poor quality of photographs or inappropriate content.

• Contact your deathcare professional with questions regarding photograph personalization.

General Guidelines Regarding Sand-Blasting & Laser-EtchingTime Frames – Please allow 5 to 7 business days from our receipt of your signed approval of the proof to complete the production of names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork; this does not include time in shipment time to you. Please allow 7 to 10 business days from our receipt of your signed approval of the proof to complete the production of laser-etched photograph personalization; this does not include time in shipment to you.

Sand-Blasting on Natural Stone – Only the urns indicated on pages 28, 29 and 86 are available for sand-blasted personalization. White fill-color is used on black, green and gray marble; black fill-color is used on white marble.

• Page 28; Evermore can have names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork sand-blasted on four sides and top; photographs can be sand-blasted on black marble only on four sides and top.• Page 28; Crest can have names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork sand-blasted on the entire circumference.• Page 29; Legacy can have names, dates and words of sentiment sand-blasted on the entire circumference at the point of greatest diameter.• Page 29; Dogwood, Chrysanthemum and Greek Fret can have sand-blasted names and words of sentiment positioned above the decorative band with dates positioned below the decorative band on the entire circumference.• Page 86; ABC Blocks can have names, dates and words of sentiment sand-blasted on back and top only.

Laser-Etching on Simulated Stone – Only the urns indicated on pages 56 and 57 are available for laser-etched personalization on simulated stone. There are 3 choices for fill-color; black, gold and white.

• Page 56; Saturn can have names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork laser-etched on four sides and on top; photographs on four sides only.• Page 56; Eldridge can have names, dates, words of sentiment, artwork and photographs laser-etched on top only.• Page 57; Majesty can have names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork laser-etched on four sides and on top; photographs on four sides only.

Please note: Photographs can be laser-etched only with black fill-color on the White Marble or Pearl Onyx models of the urns on pages 56 and 57. The Granitone and Catalina models of all urns on pages 56 and 57 can only have laser-etched text and numbers and only in the Roman typestyle.

Laser-Etching on Wood – Only the urns indicated on pages 59, 68, 69, 71 and 84 are available for laser-etched personalization on wood.

• Page 59; Ride Home can be laser-etched with names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork only on top and back.• Page 68; Bas-Relief Praying Hands can be laser-etched with names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork on front, back & top. • Page 68; Bas-Relief Dolphins and Bas-Relief Lighthouse can be laser-etched with names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork only on top & back.• Page 69; Ultimate can be laser-etched with names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork only on front and two sides; photographs can be laser-etched on front.• Page 71; Our Lady of Guadalupe can be laser-etched with names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork only on top and back.• Page 84; Infant Inlay can be laser-etched with names, dates, words of sentiment and artwork only on top and back.

Sand-Blasting – The surface of natural stone urn is permanently marked; the icon and icon shown throughout the catalog indicate natural stone surfaces that can be sand-blasted for personalization; not all natural stone urns can be sand-blasted for personalization. Please see “Guidelines Regarding Laser-Etching & Sand-Blasting” for additional information.
