FeLV infection is a very serious condition, as

seropositive cats will develop blood disorders or

serious cancers.

For months, cats can look healthy, while they

can also transmit the virus to other cats or may

rapidly develop signs of disease.

As with human HIV, FIV damages the immune

system making cats weaker to fight a lot of

infections.

Seropositive infected cats may not show any

sign for years.

Cats can develop severe FIV related symptoms

later in their life. Ultimately the issue of this

contamination will be fatal.

FIV only affects cats and cannot be transmit-

ted to people.
