What is infatuation?

Infatuation is an emotion with somebody else of admiration and deep connection. It is not logical.

It's an emotion that someone feels when they can not stop thinking about someone else. Infatuation

almost always involves sexual attraction between two individuals and emotions. It's something

which cannot be controlled, only checked when the 2 parties are not connected. Basically, you will

know you are infatuated when you can not stop thinking about someone and it almost looks like

your entire life revolves around the individual you're infatuated with.

What is love?

Love, based on the oxford dictionary, is an emotion of private attachment and a strong affection.

Romantic love is usually the topic of interest when comparing infatuation vs love although obviously,

there are all sorts of love. Romantic love between two individuals is generally the successor of

infatuation. After the "butterflies" which are common early on in a relationship have subsided, the

couple could have acquired a genuine interest in each other's well being. The non-stop generally the

butterflies could have ceased by the time the couple is genuinely in love and thinking and fixation for

each other is not a characteristic of the relationship. The feelings of fixation and closeness may

happen but generally not with precisely the same amount of passion.

What Causes Infatuation?

How you are perceived by someone causes feelings of infatuation. It also has to do with how you're

influenced by another person. Physical attraction is simply part of the equation. The part that is

more important needs to do with how another person thinks you're affected by them. When they

become addicted to you making them feel unique someone will become infatuated. They yearn for

every minute and that feeling each. The infatuation continues as long as they keep feeling special

around you. This happens when one man notices and is affected by unique personality

characteristics. For example, a man may be attracted to some girl's want for comic books. He is

impacted by her interest. He ends up buying her a comic book or asking her to dress up like

superwoman for a costume party. Infatuation begins.

What Kills Infatuation?

Infatuation can last days, weeks, months and even years. It lives so long as the persons that are

infatuated feel like they are slowly finding the exceptional qualities of each other. The feelings of

fixation and thrill start to fade once the two run out of things to discover about each other.

Whenever a man or woman starts to feel overly comfortable around the person they are having

feelings for, the butterflies start to dissipate and the thrill of getting to know each other dies out.

Thus, the infatuation no longer exists. Sometimes the relationship grows into love, the successor of

Does infatuation always lead to love?

Infatuation may lead to adore only when the bond that was made during infatuation leads to making

the whole better in relation to the sum of its parts. The infatuated couple must have the ability to

balance not having the rush they did during infatuation while still continuing to build a relationship

around reciprocal esteem, admiration, care and closeness for one another. Intimacy is the key word.

If you only have respect, admiration and care but no familiarity, the relationship will end up as a

camaraderie. It's important to note that infatuation can only cause an enchanting relationship only if

the closeness stays after the infatuation subsides.
