INDUSTRY ACTIVITIES Heatbatb Corp., Springfield, Mass., has announced the acquisiton of Chemical Finishing Corp., Holyoke, Mass. Chemical Finishing is best known for its seven different perform- ing electroless nickel technologies, which are marketed under the Nitec tradename. The firm also manufactures iron and zinc phosphating, zinc, tin, and nickel plating brightener products, and environmentally preferred paint strippers. Heatbath is a global manu- facturer/marketer of metal-finishing and plating products, cleaners, chro- mate conversion coatings, and black oxidizing systems. Eastern Smelting & Refining Corp., Lynn, Mass., is celebrating 100 years of services. Established in 1896, the company specializes in processing gold, silver, and platinum group metal bearing electronic scrap (circuit boards, integrated cirucits, compo- nents, fingers, wire, etc). EC. Witt Associates, Claremont, Okla., has just finished adding 16,000 ft2 to their facilities. The expansion, taking Witt to over 38,000 ft*, was necessary for the fabrication of LPF liners. LPF is a new material made from 100% PTFE Teflon. O’Brien Powder Products Inc., Houston, has entered into a definitive agreement to be acquired by Herberts America Inc., a subsidiary of Herberts GmbH. Herberts Powder coatings is a supplier of decorative powder coatings for architectural and general industrial applications. O’Brien Powder is a ma- jor manufacturer of decorative powder coatings for the general metal industry. Also, both companies have metal service cen- ter divisions that specialize in distribu- tion of reactive metals (titanium, tanta- lum, and zirconium).
