Shah Technical Institute of Diploma Studies, Wadhawancity organized one day industrial visit to 220KV Substation, GETCO Limdi, Surendranagar, Gujarat on 14 th march 2014 for 6 th semester Electrical Engineering students. Visit was organized with the prior permission & guidance of honorable principal Prof N.M.Sureja. It was supported by respected H.O.D. Mr. V.V. Chavda along with department co-ordinator Ms. A.P.Dave. Total 38 students and one staff member have visited following places at the site: 1. Control Room • Relay control Panel • Battery Room 2. Switch yard • Transformers • Circuit Breaker • Isolators • CT & PT etc Knowledge gained by students: After completion of the visit the students have got the idea about, • Knowledge of different types Circuit breaker and Relay Substation • Operation sequence of different switch gears in Power transmission system • Different types of Protective Schemes used in Power system • Knowledge about SCADA and microprocessor relay for protection. Industrial visit
The Electrical Department of C. U. Shah Technical Institute of Diploma Studies,
Wadhwancity organized one day industrial visit to Electric Loco shed, Chhani Road, Chhani Jakat
Naka, Vadodara, Gujarat on 11th march 2014 for 6th semester electrical engineering students.
Visit was organized with the permission & guidance of Principal Prof N M Sureja. It was
supported by respected H.O.D. Mr. V.V. Chavda along with department co-ordinator B.N.
Vasoya. Total 38 students and one staff member have visited the site.
Students visited following places at the site:
• Locomotive Engine Operation & Control System
• Battery Charging System
• Locomotive Cooling System
• Coach Lighting System
• Overhead Auxiliaries
• Model of Train Electrification
Knowledge gained by students:
After completion of the visit the students have got the idea about,
• Practical knowledge of operation & controlling of train electric engine
• Knowledge about different overhead auxiliaries
• Knowledge about coach lighting & cooling system.
• Knowledge about protective circuits for train electrification.
