As a buyer for Levi’s, it comes as no surprise that Elysha Sullivan’s wardrobe is full of – you guessed it – jeans. She says she owns at least 40 pairs, a number that is increasing on a daily basis. “I love jeans,” she gushes. “They are a timeless piece of clothing, can be worn by anyone and can be dressed up or down with a simple shoe and accessories change.” Her faves right now are “a tie between my high rise extreme skinnies or 501 boyfriend jeans. But my black pair of Levi’s Curve ID skinnies are up there too”. It’s not all jeans, however, and a peek into her wardrobe reveals an eclectic mix of structured man-style jackets in denim and tough fabrics, chunky knit cardigans, stilettos, flat and high-heeled boots, statement rings and a plethora of brightly coloured scarves in varying prints and fabrics. As for her most extravagant purchase... “Hermes green alligator

stilletos – amazing”. And best budget buy? “Vintage Burberry trench from Portobello Markets”. She lists global fashion meccas Soho and Portobello Markets in London and St Germain in Paris as her pick of shopping haunts, but includes Chapel St in Melbourne as a top spot for designer duds as well. She mainly dresses to suit her mood, but always with style in mind. Her number one fashion tip is: “Always wear what you feel confident in, and feel confident in what you wear – it shows!”

We chat to The Body Shop’s Make-up Co-ordinator about this season’s glamorous make-up looks in hot hues.

“Don’t be afraid to experiment with bright colours this winter,” says Henny. “Dramatic eyes are really strong with a move away from dark browns and greys to much brighter, lighter colours.”

Henny says to take inspiration from pop starlet Katy Perry, “think bright purples and greens with liquid liner, rosy cheeks and long, thick lashes”, and she suggests shadows from The Body Shop’s new Baked to Last range for an intense, long lasting look. If you’re afraid of losing that golden glow from summer, bronzers are always an excellent option.

As for her key tips for winter...

“Make sure to prime and moisturise before applying make-up to set your look and stop it from drying out.”

Maintain lips, and invest in The Body Shop’s High Shine Lip Treatment for a glossy, glamorous look that will keep lips luscious and kissable all through winter.

BEAUTY/ consciousWhat do you know about the skin products you use? At L’Occitane it’s all about making a beauty and environmental difference.

For L’Occitane founder Olivier Baussan, social responsibility is just as vital as the beautiful shea products they produce. So when he first visited the poverty-stricken small West African nation Burkina Faso in the 1980’s to source the soon-to-be world renowned shea butter, that social responsibility was paramount. After forging a relationship with the women who produce it, Olivier and his company began building and sustaining a development program, ensuring that money was put back directly into the community. L’Occitane purchases the butter directly from the

women, paying above market price, covering all production, environmental and social costs and also allowing room for investment. The shea butter network has also been given an Ecocert Fair Trade certification, allowing for greater business development. From an initial 100 women, there are now 11,000 women in Burkina Faso who are working and benefiting from the creation of L’Occitane’s Shea Butter. L’Occitane’s Shea Butter is not only nourishing for the skin, it is also a product that goes well beyond the surface.

LOVELY/ locks

For the ladies this winter, it is all about hair with body, natural waves and bold colours.

Balayage (darker roots with lighter foils towards the ends of the hair) will be big this winter – think Rachel Bilson and Jessica Biel.

For a night time look, try teasing your hair and wearing it in a big messy bun.

In winter, hair needs extra care, so don't forget to tend to those tresses with hydrating treatments and moisture-rich shampoo and conditioners.

We share the latest trends and styling tips for hair this season.

MODERN/ manRick Chiarelli, co-owner of Col Nayler Barber Shop talks men's hair and the modern barber.

What's the modern barber like?A lot of people think that barber shops are old fashioned and for 'short back and sides' hair styles. We still offer a lot of traditional cuts, but barbers have really diversified and are doing a wide range of modern styles and cuts as well.

Why visit the barber? At Col Nayler, we offer a great quality service at a low price. Men can come in here, have their hair cut and then a traditional neck shave at the end, which we think really finishes the look of the hair cut and sets us apart from a standard hairdresser. We also don't require an appointment, which is very convenient for the busy, modern man.

What are the season's top hair trends? The messy, textured look is in. For most guys, the hair is longer with a lot more texture, shape and product without being too heavy or rigid.

What products can men use to achieve this look? The products I like are American Crew Defining Paste and Fiber. These are our most popular products and great for recreating the look at home.
