    Dear Guillermo Prez Herrera,

In recognition of your commitment to the cause of the working poor, especially

women, in the informal economy and your contributions to WIEGO, we would like

to invite you to become an Individual Member of WIEGO.

WIEGO is a global action-research-policy network with three broad constituencies:membership-based organizations of informal workers (unions, cooperatives,

associations, networks); researchers and statisticians working on the informal

economy; and practitioners in development agencies (international agencies, government agencies, and NGOs) who have demonstrated an interest in the

    informal economy.

Both individuals and membership-based organizations can be invited to become

members of WIEGO. Membership-based organizations of informal workers are

invited to become Institutional Members. Individuals from our other twoconstituencies are invited to become Individual Members. The criteria for

Membership are: a) having served on the Board of WIEGO or one of the Advisory

Committees of the five WIEGO programs; b) having collaborated with WIEGO in

two or more activities (research project, policy dialogue, workshop or conference);or c) having participated in two or more meetings of WIEGO.

Members are invited to the WIEGO General Assembly (held every four years), atwhich they will have the opportunity to provide feed-back on WIEGOs programs, progress, and plans as well as to elect representatives from their particular

constituency (as above) to the Nomination Sub-Committee of WIEGOs Board.

Between General Assemblies, members may be invited to participate in newactivities, as well as receive regular information and publications from the WIEGO

    network.

Members are expected to pay annual dues and to participate actively in WIEGOactivities. WIEGO has decided to keep its fee structure reasonably simple and

affordable, while still calling for a minimum level of commitment. The annual fee

for Individual Members is GBP 25, with various payment options.
