• The video followed the conventions of Goodwin. This is because it had both a performance element and a narrative element.

• The narrative and performance elements were both identifiable and were also distinct from each other. This is because the main artist is wearing a different costume in the narrative part than the performance part. Therefore making it easy for the audience to distinguish between the narrative and performance parts.

• The genre was successfully conveyed using costume. Hoodies are synonymous with hip hop music; therefore the use of hoodies as the costume for the video therefore clearly conveys that the genre for the music in the music video will be hip hop.

• Conventions of music videos in general were followed. An example of this is that the music video had lip syncing, which most music videos contain. Also all the lip syncing was in time to the music so made the video look professional.

• The narrative of the video clearly shows the artists values and beliefs. The narrative shows the police as being inept. This is because the police in the video wrongly launch a criminal investigation on the artist. The police then stop and search the artist and find out that he is not a criminal and their investigation has been fruitless. This therefore conveys that the artist is anti-authoritarian as he views authority figures, such as the police, to be incompetent. Also it shows the artist is against the use of stop and search, as the video portrays stop and search in a negative light and therefore shows that the artist is against the use of stop and search.

• The use of editing made the performance in the music video more enjoyable. This is because the use of intercutting increased the cut rate for when the artist and co-artist were performing. This faster cut rate made it more appealing to watch the performance than if I did not intercut and instead used one extended shot of the artist or co-artist rapping.

• The scenes filmed in Russell Square had too much glare. This made the video unclear and hard to watch for the audience.

• Some of the shots were blurry. This made the video look unprofessional and unclear.

• Some people did not like the use of subtitles to replace the narrative dialogue. This is because they did not like the aesthetics of the subtitles and said they would prefer to hear the dialogue rather than read it.

• People didn’t like the use of my draft digipak at the end of the music video.

What changes will I make for the final group edit based on audience feedback?

• I will replace the subtitled dialogue with diegetic sound dialogue.

• I will re-edit some sequences of shots so that I can edit out the blurry shots.

What changes will I make for the final group edit based on audience feedback?

• I will reduce the glare in the video. I can do this by using final cut editing tools, such as the brightness and contrast Bezier or by applying filter.

• I will cut out the use of my draft digipak at the end of the video.
