Reflections About MotherBy Pastor Chip Bullock

“It’s the little things that can turn into big things.” “It doesn’t matter if the

whole world is doing wrong; you are supposed to do right.” “Pretty is as pretty

does.” Even though I have not lived at home for ten years now, I can still hear

my mom telling me these things. As I have been away from home longer I have

begun to appreciate my mom even more. So much of how I think and my ap-

proach to life were formed by my mom. I am where I am today in large part be-

cause of her influence. Of all the things that she has given to me, there are a few

that rise to the top. She has constantly lived and taught principle. We make our

decisions and live our lives by principle.

That has been a guide as I have started

my own life.

She has shown a confident

faith in her God. I cannot help

but believe that God does

and will take care of each

and every situation.

She has given me uncon-

ditional love. This is the

greatest attribute that could

be given. I could call her

from anywhere today and

be confident of at least one

thing, she loves me. I can

understand the love of the

Father because of the love

of my mother.

A mother’s life can mean

so much that her love and

influence can never be to-

tally measured. I do know

that of all the blessings I

have been given, the life

and love of my mother is

one of the greatest.

New Chapel/AuditoriumIndiana Wesleyan

University’s new Cha-

pel/Auditorium repre-

sents a $22 mil l ion

investment in the

Marion/Grant County

community. The build-

ing, which is to be com-

pleted in January 2010,

will seat 3,800 people.

The facility will be used both as the campus chapel and will provide assembly

space for large campus and community events, such as graduations, lecture se-

ries, conferences and concerts. The Groundbreaking Ceremony was held

April 4, 2008.

A few thoughts from the DS:1. “Prayer is what we need most,” is what I often tell people. Let’s con-

tinue to seek the Lord across our district. Let’s pray and fast, believing for God

to renew our spirits and enlarge our territories for His glory!

2. As indicated in the last district paper, our district is still very much in-

volved in the missions work in Panama. If you would like to send an offer-

ing for this cause, you can mark it “Panama” and send it to Mr. Dale

Hayhurst, 519 Wabash Ave., Terre Haute, IN 47807.

Your hard work is paying off and the March

Church Growth Report shows it.

There were also 32 saved or sanctified in March 2008to which we give God praise.

1. Honesty and respect of personal and camp property must be maintained. 2. Each person shall maintain his/her Christian witness at all times, everywhere; in modesty of dress, action and

attitude. 3. The children are only allowed to phone home for emergency purposes, calls to campers are strongly discouraged. 4. All medication must be kept and administered by the camp nurse. 5. The camp director reserves the right to make all decisions concerning camp under the direction of the DBA. For

We, the Kids Bible Camp Committee, will make a sincere effort to provide your child with not only a spiritual, fun and exciting camp; but a secure one as well. With that in mind, we ask that you visit the camp ONLY IN EMERGENCY SITUATIONS. There will be a nurse on duty at all times. If you need to come to the campground during the week, we ask that you first stop at the camp office to check-in. We want to have a safe and secure environment and that is not possible if people other than campers and staff are on the campground without our knowledge. Please help us with this concern. Early departure of a camper is possible only by a signed request prior to the start of camp from parent or guardian and the child must be picked up by that designated person.

Saturday April 12th was a great day! I could not be more

proud (in the right way) of you dear people across this great

district. You came out in support of Super Saturday, but

also the Lilly endeavor. We had 138 attend which consisted

of 74 lay people and 64 ministers. This was a wonderful

participation for which I am thankful. The offering taken

to help with Dr. Coleman’s travel expenses was $498.75.

Thanks for helping with this expense. –Dr. Mark

Dr. Coleman brought evangelism to the hearts of every-

one, laymen and ministers. He has such practical ap-

proaches, and it really was a down-to-earth seminar

appreciated by all, from the responses I was hearing. He

drew from what the scriptures teach us, and of course the

greatest expert of all on the subject, Jesus Christ Himself.

The day was culminated with Dr. Eckart’s presentation

of the Lilly Grant. If we receive this grant, it has the possi-

bility of great support for our pastors financially, and lifting

the burdens they bear in pursuing the call of the ministry.

Thanks Dr. Mark for making this a priority for our district.

I really enjoyed the Super Saturday and I was blessed to

sit under the teaching of Dr. Coleman concerning evange-

lism. If I had the opportunity, I would sure go hear him

I wanted to speak to you Saturday on our way out, but

you were busy with other folks. I just wanted to let you

know how much the group I brought appreciated all your

hard work in getting such a great motivational speaker in

Dr. Coleman. We talked about how he hit on many of the

subjects that we have started doing at Sullivan. We just

started a men’s small accountability group and I have

watched them leave their comfort zones and grow more

spiritually. Keep up the good work. I’m looking forward to

the next Super Saturday!

made to renovate the down-stairs of the building locateddirectly behind the taberna-cle. Pictured above is Revs.

Several years ago the camp boughta used mower. The engine blew upthis past summer of 2007. We were

forced to buy another mower.Maybe the Lord would lay it upon

someone’s heart or one of you dearchurches would take it as a project

to buy this for the district, sincebuying the mower went beyond ourexpected operational budget. If so,please contact the district office for
