Getting to your resort

Transfers to your resort always depends on the location of your island and the transfer will be by speedboat, luxury launch, domestic flight or seaplane. On arrival at Hulhule Island airport you will be personally met by your resort representative who will advise transfer arrangements.

SEAPLANE FLIGHTS to resorts on the outer atolls may only be flown during daylight hours. A number of international flights arrive in Male late evening so you may be required to spend your first night at a hotel on the island capital of Male or on Hulhule the airport island. Wildlife Safari always includes your first night accommodation in a deluxe room at Traders Male or Hulhule Island Hotel in a superior room for all Maldives holidays that require a scenic seaplane transfer.

BOAT TRANSFERS meet all arriving international flights and dock at the jetty on Hulhule Airport Island and can transfer at any time of the day or night. On arrival at Hulhule Island airport you will be met by your resort representative and escorted to the jetty for your transfer to your island resort.

DOMESTIC FLIGHTS On arrival at Male airport your resort representative will personally escort you to the domestic lounge for your domestic flight transfer. The waiting time for your onward domestic transfer will be kept to a minimum.

Zanzibar DoorsThe intricately carved doors of Zanzibar offer a fascinating visual history. Traditionally the wealthier the owner the larger and more elaborately carved would the door to his house. Carved into the doors would be symbolic designs and quotations from the Koran, elements to represent the merchants trade as well as frankincense and date palms to symbolize wealth. Doors were also studded with brass spikes believed to have originated from the India where palaces had studded doors to prevent them being battered by war elephants. These days artisans continue the tradition of carving the famous Zanzibari doors and on a walking tour through Stone Town you will see many fine examples.

Forty kilometres off the coast of Tanzania and with its ancient blend of cultures the clove scented islands of Zanzibar remains East Africa’s most evocative and romantic destination. The Zanzibar archipelago includes the main island Unguja

(known as Zanzibar) and its sister island Pemba Island.

Steeped in history the island has been ruled over the years

reservationsWildlife Safari requires a deposit of 20% of the total tour cost to confirm your travel arrangements with balance of payment due sixty days prior to your departure date. Some suppliers may require additional deposits and this will be advised at time of reservation. Reservations will be cancelled if final payment is not received by the due date with full loss of deposit. Changes to existing reservations will incur a $50.00 administrative fee and any changes made within sixty days of the departure date will be charged at the cancellation penalties outlined below. All airline tickets and tour documents will be sent about two weeks prior to your departure date unless requested in writing.
