INDIAN INSTITUTE OF INFRASTRUCTURE & CONSTRUCTION Indian Institute of Infrastructure and Construction (IIIC) is a joint initiative of Kerala Academy for Skills Excellence (KASE) - the State Skill Development Mission and Uralungal Labour Contract Co-operative Society Ltd (ULCCS Ltd). It has been established with a vision to promote tailor made courses for technical, Supervisory and Managerial levels in the construction and infrastructure sectors. With its strong experience in the construction sector, ULCCS Ltd., a 93 year old cooperative in infrastructure and construction, is ideally positioned to take the lead in transforming IIIC into a state-of-the-art skill institute.
The infrastructure sector have a shortage of around 3 million project professionals. In order to meet this demand, there is a need for suitably qualifi ed and skilled professionals. This pool of trained professionals is needed across various job levels in the infrastructure value chain. Anticipating to fi ll this gap and to make it’s talent pool employable, Government of Kerala took the initiative of establishing a Centre of Excellence in Infrastructure and Construction.

1. Advanced Certifi cate in Housekeeping
The Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for manually cleaning the property’s fl oors, vertical surfaces, furniture and fi xtures.
Minimum educational qualifi cation: 8th Pass.Experience in housekeeping is desirable but not mandatory.Course duration: 3 monthsCourse fee: `20,000 + GST
2. Certifi cate Programme in Road Construction Machinery Operator
Proper selection and optimum utilization of equipment plays a vital role in successful completion of a road project. This course aims to provide students training in operating a hot mix plant and also some of the major equipment employed at a road construction site namely motor grader, compactor and asphalt paver.

TECHNICIAN LEVEL COURSES
3. Certifi cate Programme in Scaffolding Operator
The main objective of this programme is to build professionally skilled Scaffolders who can work as a team member following all the safety & Quality policy and can deliver the best output to the construction industry.
Minimum Educational Qualifi cation: Matriculation.Course Duration: 3 monthsExperience: Not mandatoryCourse fee: `20000 + GST
4. Advanced Certifi cate Programme in Bar Bending & Steel Fixing
This job role performs cutting, bending and fabrication of reinforcement steel as per drawing. Bar bender & Steel Fixer is responsible for marking, cutting and bending of rebars using hand or power tools effectively, fabricating, placing and fi xing reinforcement at the desired location using correct ties within specifi ed time and tolerance. The individual should have good knowledge of safe work practices and handling of rebars properly.
Minimum educational qualifi cation: Matriculation.
Course duration: 3 monthsExperience in bar bending is desirable but not mandatory. Course fee: `20000 + GST
5. Certifi cate Programme in STP & WTP Operator
Water Treatment Plant (WTP) and system operators run the equipment, control the processes, and monitor the plants that treat water to make it free from impurities. Sewage Water Treatment Plants are now mandatorily installed at high-rise buildings and commercial buildings. The STP operators typically need to know to operate the plant and the employability is considered high.

6. Certifi cate Programme in Data Centre Infrastructure
The course will provide comprehensive knowledge about Data Center technologies,
standards, components, principles, and latest trends. The course is designed to imbibe necessary technical & engineering skills of engineering certifi cate holders of all mentioned trades to make them fi t for performing in the industry & get a very defi nite competitive advantage in the placement drives & in work performance.

7. Certifi cate in Painting & Finishing Works
The job role is responsible for executing complex decorative paint fi nishes on surfaces using general and spray paint techniques within specifi ed time and tolerance.
Minimum educational qualifi cation: Matriculation Course duration: 6 months Experience in painting is desirable but not mandatoryCourse fee: `30000 + GST

8. Advanced Certifi cate Programme in Plumbing Engineering
A Plumbing engineer is responsible for supervising, coordinating and scheduling the activities of plumbers and other staffs. This course gives adequate skill training for obtaining supervisory jobs in the construction sector.

9. Adv. Certifi cate Programme in Hospitality Management
The course provides a comprehensive knowledge and practical applications of hospitality management. The course introduces housekeeping, front offi ce, food and beverage, nutrition, sales and marketing and hands on training with internship at reputed institutions.

10. Adv. Certifi cate Programme in GPS/GIS
This course introduces GIS concepts and ArcGIS tools used to visualize real-world features, discover patterns, and communicate information. Using ArcMap and ArcGIS Online, trainers and trainees will work with GIS maps, explore data, and analyze maps.

14. Adv. DIP in Data Center Infrastructure
The recent trend in IT/ITES sector is ‘Cloud Computing’. In order to facilitate the cloud computing , data centre infrastructure need to be set up in the country. The course will provide comprehensive knowledge about Data Center technologies, standards, components, design, implementation & operating principles, latest trends

15. PGD in Adv. Construction Management
Post Graduate Diploma in Advanced Construction Management builds upon the concepts and methodologies of management, engineering, architecture, law, information technology, social and behavioural sciences and combines theory with practical experience and research work. This programme has been designed to suit the needs of students from India and other Asian countries. The programme is structured to prepare Engineering graduates for undertaking professional responsibilities demanding high profi ciency in skills of application of latest technology, people management, project fi nance, international markets -all with a special reference to infrastructure development and real estate projects. The curriculum will be reviewed from time to time to incorporate the latest advancements in Construction, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Project (CRIP) industry and to build a strong competence in the diversifi ed area.

13. Graduateship Programme for Computer Science Graduates

Studies reveal that employability among engineering graduates is only 17 %. IIIC is planning to launch three months’ internship cum Graduateship programme for engineering graduates to address the increasing needs of employability.
The programme will be implemented with the support from premier institutions within the country and abroad including appropriate industries. Students will get on job training, placement support and options for higher education including study abroad programmes.
The primary goal of the Internship Program is to allow civil engineering graduates to incorporate and emphasize the lessons learned in the classroom into a real-world experience set in a professional practice-oriented environment. In addition to offering students the opportunity to demonstrate and develop their technical skills, participation in the program allows students to develop professional skills such as teamwork, effective communication, social interaction and professional networking, an understanding of business procedures, leadership, and critical thinking.

16. PGD in Interior design and Construction
The course provides a comprehensive knowledge and practical applications of interior design and construction. The course introduces theory, design, drawing and representation skills, studio work and hands on training with internship.

17. PGD in Urban Planning Design & Architecture
Designed to prepare students in the skills of analyzing the physical, social, cultural, economic and ecological dimensions of urban settlements, comprehending their problems, and evolving measures to address the issues and emerging challenges in a planned manner. The programme focuses on various forms of planning processes and exposes the students to new techniques such as project planning and GIS.

18. PGD in Facilities & Contract Management (Collaborative IFMA-FMP Program)
The course provides a comprehensive knowledge and practical Applications Facility And Contract Management. The course introduces theory, design, and representation skills and hands on training with internship. Facility Management is an emerging employment sector at Malls, Hospitals, IT
companies etc where job opportunities are on the rise. This program is conducted as a collaborative course with certifi cation from International Facility Management Association, Houston, USA.

19. PGD in Retail Management (Collaborative-AIMA)
The program aims at developing the competencies and skills needed by the future leaders in retail sector. The One year Post Graduate Certifi cate Program in Retail Management is offered in fl exi learning mode with substantial classroom teaching and hands on experience in industry through lab and internships. This is a collaborative course with All Inia Management Association (AIMA) and is an AICTE approved course.

20. PGD in Data Analytics.
The main goal of this course is to help students learn, understand, and practice big data analytics and machine learning approaches, which include the study of modern computing big data technologies and scaling up machine learning techniques focusing on industry applications.

For all Courses : In addition to the core subjects, IIIC provides structured training for all students in Computer lab for structutred training for all relevant software, Communicative English and extensive training on Softskill development to enhance their placement opportunities. Affi liations: All the above courses are approved by KASE, Govt of Kerala and affi liated to NSDC and CSDCI. The English language testing services (BULATS) course offered as part of PG Diploma and Graduate ship Courses are affi liated to Cambridge University. The Courses in Construction sector are also aligned to the syllabus of NAC, Hyderabad. Twinning programs of Glasgow Kelvin College, UK are also envisaged.
STUDENT FACILITIESThe following facilities are available at the campus of IIIC for the students:
Facilities/Equipment Available
Understanding the importance of a good library in a skill development institution, IIIC has a library with multiple copies of books on various subjects related to the courses and syllabus followed by the institute. Library has subscribed to various periodicals relevant to skill training also.
The Central store holds all the hand tools and accessories required for various courses being conducted at IIIC. The store also holds raw material for workshop activities. All safety equipment and PPEs are stored here which are issued to students as required.
A student convenience store is provided near the dining hall. Items like stationary, edibles, toiletries and cosmetics are available in this store.
A full-fl edged canteen is functioning at the IIIC premises to provide wholesome meals to the students and staff. Canteen provides breakfast, lunch and dinner based on a weekly menu decided by the food committee.
A reprographic Centre is working in the IIIC premises for the students as a student welfare measure, where students can obtain copies of their study material at a nominal cost.

HOSTEL FACILITIES:Limited Hostel facilities are available in the campus for both boys and girls.
The Hostel inmates are provided with basic amenities like coat, study table, cupboard etc in the rooms. Three meals are served in the mess hall/Canteen hall in a day.
HOSTEL FEE: The hostel fee per month per student is Rs.5000/pm.
