Terms and Conditions

For applicants:

1. Applications should be prepared using the format specified by the Academies. 2. Applications should be submitted online using the websites of one of the three

Academies (www.ias.ac.in), (www.insaindia.org)  or (www.nasi.org.in). 3. Only one application per person should be submitted. 4. A printed copy of the application along with enclosures should be sent by speed

post immediately after the online submission. 5. Student applicants should include a recommendation letter (in the prescribed

format) from a teacher familiar with the work of the applicant. This letter (in a sealed envelope) should be sent along with the printed copy of the application. The recommendation letter can also be sent directly by the teacher addressed to the Academy.

6. The last date for receipt of applications is online 31 December 2011 and print version 7 January 2012. Applications received after the due date will not be considered.

7. All decisions regarding the selection of candidates will be at the sole discretion of the Academies.

Other matters: 1. Any grievance or dispute concerning the SRFP-2012 shall be addressed to

Academy whose decision thereon shall be final. 2. Without prejudice to (1) above, only the courts at Bangalore city shall be

the fora for seeking judicial remedy, if any, for any dispute or grievance.

List of enclosures: 1. A write-up (in about 250 words) as to the specific area of interest of the

applicant and whathe/she would like to learn and achieve through this fellowship. It can also include the specificexperiment or theory that the applicant wants to work on but NOT a general description of thearea. (Copy and paste job from any source is unacceptable)

2. For student applicants: Letter of recommendation (in the prescribed format) from a teacherfamiliar with the work of the applicant should be sent to the Academy in sealed envelope eitheralong with the printed copy of the application or separately by the teacher addressed to theAcademy. Please provide the online registration number to the teacher.

3. For teacher applicants: List of publications, if available.4. For teacher applicants: On selection, an authorization letter from the head

of the department /institution is required before accepting the Fellowship.

5. The printed copy of the application along with enclosures should be sent by speed-post orcourier to the address given below.

Notes:1. Academy means Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore.2. Academies mean Indian Academy of Sciences, Bangalore; Indian National

Science Academy, New Delhi and The National Academy of Sciences, India, Allahabad.

3. Guide means list of scientists approved by the Academies as guides.
