INDEFINITE AND REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS By Cheryl M. Hamilton Indefinite Pronouns An indefinite pronoun is a pronoun that does not refer to a specific word. They do not always have definite antecedents. Most indefinite pronouns are either singular or plural. Some Indefinite Pronouns SingularPlural everybody no one anybody everyone anyone somebody each someone either something both few many others several all some Indefinite Pronouns Use singular verb forms with singular indefinite pronouns and plural verb forms with plural indefinite pronouns. Example Everyone loves Woody from Toy Story. Few like The Queen of Hearts. Example Has anyone seen my students lately? Example Has someone seen him? Some of you might know where he is? Example Many of you know these girls. Example Both of them are from Bullskin Township School. Example Several students are from Zach Connell School. Reflexive Pronouns A reflexive pronoun reflects the action of the verb back on the subject. Reflexive pronouns are formed by adding self or selves. Reflexive Pronouns SingularPlural myself yourself himself, herself, itself ourselves yourselves themselves Reflective Pronouns There are no such words as hisself, theirself, theirselves, or ourself. Example Remember to help yourselves to the pencils and paper for the project. Example Grady will help himself to the food.
