Role of MCDEMRole of MCDEMOur role is to:

• provide strategic policy advice on New Zealand’s capability

• ensure the establishment of structures to support the framework

• provide support to sector stakeholders to build and enhance capability

• ensure a co-ordinated approach across the 4Rs

• manage central government response and recovery functions for large scale events
