Not only are we highly committed to developing our inclusive

culture, our client Highways England expects A-one+ to

achieve accreditation as a condition of our contract

Did you

know?

WANT TO KNOW MORE? We have developed a detailed action plan listing the things that we want

to achieve to ensure we meet our objective. To give you an idea of what we will be doing between now and the end

of April we have outlined some of the activity below.

Raising awareness of inclusion themes?

• We will host lunchtime talks on; race awareness, disability and lesbian, gay and bisexual (LGB) equality in

the workplace.

• We will coach senior managers to raise awareness of diversity and inclusion.

• We will create a number of fact sheets about inclusion topics, make sure you check your nearest inclusion

notice board.

What are we doing about monitoring inclusion?

We are issuing equality monitoring forms to everyone. You can help by completing and returning the form as

quickly as possible. This will help us create a diversity monitoring report for our whole organisation. In addition

we will carry out exit interviews analysis. Both sets of data will be anonymous.

What are we doing to ensure inclusion in recruitment?

We are contacting the recruitment agencies that we work with to obtain key diversity information

How will we collate and capture best practice?

Each area has a dedicated Investors in Diversity steering group which will develop a portfolio of evidence on

diversity and inclusion for us to include in our submission for accreditation.

Issue 1 Inclusion and You

Meet the assessor Jo Barton is our appointed

Investors in Diversity assessor. She will be visiting

both Area 12 and Area 4 over the next few weeks to

speak to some of you. Jo will also deliver some

training on inclusion to help us understand more

about how we can change our behaviour.
