Cisco ignites internal startup culture with “Innovate Everywhere” intrapreneurship challenge
Employees brainstorm ideas, around things they’re not working on today, and form teams with other functions. They submit ideas, employees vote, and finalists are given an
“Adventure Kit” with up to $2K to spend on creating a minimum viable product. Mentors work with teams, until they pitch to senior execs and external judges. Winners are assigned executive sponsors and given time to work on innovation while their core job is protected.
Cisco ignites internal startup culture with “Innovate Everywhere” intrapreneurship challenge
Innovate Everywhere engagement results: 48% of Cisco’s workforce have participated; more than 2K employees submitted more than 1,100 ideas; nearly 50% of submissions were from teams; more than 18K employees in 50 countries participated; and employees made more
than 4K comments and cast more than 45K votes for winning ideas.

Mastercard’s IdeaBox program generates 700+ ideas from diverse global employees
IdeaBox is a program run by Mastercard Labs with the aim of developing unique products and services that are commercially viable. It is designed to
motivate employees to step out of the day-to-day to develop original, scalable, actionable solutions. Selected ideas are developed and validated by
employees, then potentially led to incubation.

IdeaBox participants are diverse, both functionally and globally, in order to bring different approaches to the table. One of the winning IdeaBox teams
was comprised of employees from Singapore and Sydney and receives mentorship from executives in Dublin and New York.
