Term 4 Week 4 6 November 2018 Message from the Relieving Principal / Mrs Brandtman
Dear Parents and Carers, Mr Jennings is on leave from Monday November 5 until Monday November 19. I will be Relieving Principal and Mr Callaughan will be Relieving Deputy Principal. Mr Hoff will be the Relieving Stage 2 Assistant Principal.
Changes to normal routines for picking up students after school
On some occasions parents and carers may require a change to normal arrangements for the collection of their child
(ren) after school. If this involves another adult being given a parent/carer’s permission to collect their child, it is im-
portant that the school is aware of the change to normal routine. A phone call to the school office or a note sent into
the class teacher prior to the altered arrangements taking place will ensure that there is no confusion around students
being picked up from school by a different person. If parents and carers are running late due to unforeseen circum-
stances, a phone call to the office prior to 3pm would be appreciated and will prevent children and parents from worry-
ing about a child’s safety. Parents and Carers should not pick up other students from school unless the school / class-
room teacher has had approval from the child’s parents.

White Ribbon Workshop
Mr Kerr, Mr Jennings and Ms Graham attended the Breaking the Silence workshop at Bonnyrigg High School. It was
a very valuable experience to learn about how the White Ribbon Campaign has made a difference in educating stu-
dents on respectful relationships and positive behaviour towards girls and woman. We would like to thank Dale and
Marianne for running another fantastic workshop. Looking forward to some new initiatives this term and next year!

Kindergarten Excursion Last Tuesday, Kindergarten went on an excursion to Darling Harbour to see the theatre production 'Big Bad Wolf'. This show was selected to support the ES1 English unit of work about characterisation. The show was of excellent quality and our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The play touched on good personal development messages such as acceptance, friendships, kindness and trying your hardest. After the show the students then had a picnic lunch at Cook Park, Kyeemagh. As one student said' This was the funnest (sic) day ever!'. The teachers were all very proud of the students' impeccable be-haviour and manners while out in public School Uniform Standards Sans Souci PS has a fine reputation within the community for the high standard of school uniform. The majority of students come to school on a daily basis proudly wearing full school uniform. It is vital that parents and carers support the school’s efforts to maintain this standard by ensuring that all students are wearing the approved summer, winter or sport uniforms on any given day. At this time of year full summer uniform is to be worn, including black school shoes. On specified days involving sport or PE activities students are permitted to wear sports shoes instead of black school shoes. Students are re-quired to wear a school hat for all outside activities, including lunch and fruit break. Non-school col-oured hats, jackets and other garments are not permitted. Parents are reminded that clean/washed second hand uniform spares are available from the canteen for $2 per item. I trust all families will do their best to ensure the high standard of school uniform continues at Sans Souci! If you have any questions about school uniforms, please don’t hesitate in contacting me.

Farmer Fundraiser Raffle
Coo-ee Sans Souci, have you sold your raffle tickets? Remember to return the tickets and money back to the office
and grab some more tickets to sell. Sell to your neighbours, friends and family- you don’t want them to miss out on
the fabulous prizes available.
Keep an eye out on our silent auction of the signed Cronulla Jersey that is placed up near the office. Bids are under
way via the link https://www.myminiauction.com/ssps.
We have researched and discussed where to give our funds to and after much thought we have decided to give it to
a non-profitable organisation in Braidwood called Braidwood Life Centre. This community is found 3 hours south-
west of Sydney and has a population of approximately 1600 people. The organisation provides food vouchers, men-
tal health, physical health check-ups and much more to the community and farmers around Braidwood. It is here our
Sans Souci fundraiser money can make a real difference.
The organiser of this great community centre is very grateful for our thoughts and generous donation. Several of us
will deliver the cheque in person to meet the community and see firsthand how our donation will help. Keep selling
those tickets as this is where we raise as much money as we can. Kindest Regards,
Please note tickets are not to be paid by POP. Cash and tickets in envelope and put in chute at the office..
Thanking you.

Year 6 Interrelate Program
This week, after three sessions, the Inter-
relate program for our Year 6 students
ended. Throughout these weeks Year 6
students have been led by their course
educator, Maha, and worked through sev-
eral discussion and tutorial based activi-
ties exploring a range of adolescent is-
sues related to sexuality and relationships. Our Year 6 teachers have been praiseworthy in
the value of this Personal Development and Health program for their students in preparing
them for high school and their teen years.
iPad Information for 2019 Year 5 Parents
For several years now our Stage 3 students have been engaged in our outstanding Bring
Your Own Device program where the use of technology is heavily integrated in all curriculum
areas providing students an opportunity to develop a multitude of 21st century learning skills.
Due to several enquiries from parents about our school’s preferred iPad specifications, we’ve
published in this Newsletter some helpful guidelines to assist your child in being BYOD ready
in 2019. Make sure you also refer to the two dates in the calendar section for the 2019 Year
5 BYOD parent information sessions that will be held later this term. These sessions will be
the same with the two times giving parents flexibility with attending.
