Bythe very nature of their design, propeller sizes simplisticallycome in small, medium, or large diameters and pitches. Smallpitched props are better for increased low end torque resulting

in good hole-shots and acceleration, but are typically slow in top-endspeed. Larger pitched props are much faster on top-end speed but areslow in acceleration and may not ever get the boat up out of the holeand on plane. Most boats are equipped with a prop pitched somewherein between, not great for hole-shotsand acceleration and not thefastest top-end speed.

The StingRay™ XPI wasdesigned to eliminate theseopposing prop functions. TheXPI eliminates the need for asmall diameter prop byforcing the stearn up and thebow down, getting the boaton plane as much as 50% fasterwith much improved acceleration.All this equates to as much as 30%-40%increases in fuel efficiency. Both the StingRay™ Hydrofoil Stabilizer andStingRay Junior™ are easy to install. All thehardware you need is included: four bolts, four

self-locking nuts and four rubber washers.

Simply drill four (4) quarter-inch holes in the cavitationplate on the lower drive unit & bolt the StingRay™ on.

Pre-drilled holes in the StingRay™ serve as a guide fordrilling the four holes. Placing the StingRay™ on top of the cavitation plate, insertthe bolts from the bottom up. Place the rubber washers on the bottom side anddrop the four (4) self locking nuts in the hex pockets on top of the hydrofoil.Use a Philips screwdriver to tighten the bolts. In a matter of minutes you’reready to enjoy unmatched performance. �

Installation on the XPI and XPIIis Quick and Easy!

The XRIII Has Easy NO-DRILLInstallation (Takes aout 5 minutes)

Locate the torque tab retaining bolt. (Fig. I) Remove the torque tab (alsoknown as a sacrificial anode ) by unscrewing the retaining bolt. (Fig. 2)Slide the XR onto the motor's cav plate as shown. (Fig. 3) Push the XR all

the way forward until the XR bottoms out on your motor post. Place the torquetab into the round cutout in the bottom of the XR (Fig.4) and replace theretaining bolt. If required, install and tighten the Phillips-head bolts on the twofront clamps on the XR (Fig. 5). Place the SpeedCaps™ over the two boltaccess openings, (Fig.6) and you’re done! �

Both the terms anti-ventilation plate or anti-cavitation plate are names commonly used todescribe the flat surface or "plate" located just

above the propeller on an outboard or sterndriveengine. The purpose of the plate is to direct waterboth over and thru the propeller when the boat is onplane. If the plate has been damaged, the propellerusually "ventilates" by pulling air in from above,

causing the propeller to loseits "bite" or traction. This results in reduced gas mileage,and both lowered top-end speed and performance.

The new StingRay™ XRIII is designed to slide around andover the cavitation plate, effectively restoring (and improving)the damaged or lost surface area. By design, the XRIII

securely reinforces the remaining plate, by securely sandwiching the top, bottomand sides.
